Took 10mg Hydrocodone 6 Hrs Before 1st Appointment

Hello. I am going to my 1st appointment to a Dr. That prescribes Suboxone to try to get my life under control. I have been taking just about any pain killer pill I can get my hands on for about 6 or 7 years now, mostly hydros, roxis and oxys. Last night I took 3 10mg hydros over a 4 hour period from 8-midnight. This morning I took 1 10mg hydro just to be able to get up and go to work for a few hours before my appointment. My question is how will the doctor react when I tell him? I took them last night because it had been almost 24 hours and I was w/d bad and was trying to take care of my newborn son. Will I still get help? I have been trying for awhile to get help and I am scared I have ruined my chance. If I could get any help with this it would be much appreciated.

He expects you to be taking stuff, thats why your going there. He,s gonna ask you when how long its been since you took anything. Be truthful with him. If you lie and start taking suboxones before your in a pretty full wd your gonna go into a super wd thats worse than the regular wds. So don,t worry about it. Just tell the truth.

Sam is correct, it is very important that you be honest with the doctor about what you've been taking, when and how much.

Suboxone contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone and the latter may throw you into withdrawals if you aren't already in them, when you start taking it. It's used in this medication to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while you are under treatment with the Suboxone.
