Tizanidine Feels Toxic, Like I Need To Clean It Out!

Updated

Basically have been trying to manage shoulder or possibly neck tensing issue for about 4-5 months now. I also try to remain active. Go to the gym regularly. One day woke up with my right side stiff, and very little feeling in it. Called doc. Who suggested this stuff. Tried it twice. And still feel...off. Foggy, light headed, random drops (then spikes) in blood pressure pulse etc. Not at my self which is normally pretty lighthearted and goofy. I called the doctor for a follow up. Doc didn't believe me saying those problems are rare. I have not taken another pill so as to avoid making matters worse. Any one else run into this? Any advice or opinions for what to do next? Any suggestions or ideas on detoxing from this stuff?

As a follow up. I was lucky. I got into see a acupuncture specialist latter that day after posting that who had experience with that junk. That person was a rare, very awsome and lucky find. I'm trying a acupucture and chinese medicine routine along with some Kava Kava( the medical kind) along with meditation gym, and Qui-Gong. This might help others as well. Kava-Kava for me so far is a vastly nicer aid than Zanaflex. I'm trying a mix called 'Fu za Won' , along with golden root and skulcap. I also have lemon and zucini, mint and lemo iced drink. Wich is both tasty and 'cooling' (helps with inflimations) So far? ERMG This is to cool and a lot nicer for my system than ZanaFlex. The Acupunture school was an incredibly lucky wonderful find. The students at that one are required to have degrees and or be current students in Eurpean medicine as well. Of the 4 visits since that post they took their time to listen, get second opinions about my issues and had a very wonderfully postive vibe to them. The new routine (so far) is helping. It's improving enormously.

All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, since Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant, it's typical side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth.

How are you doing now on your new regimen? Have there been any other changes?

Thank you for the response ^_^ 'Fu Zu Wong Curcuma was pretty good start, The routine is helping some manage what ever the issue is. For a few days after Acupuncture so far the shoulder and neck weirdness go away for a bit after acupunture and came back some. Just not nearly as strong. Something in or about the iced cucumber, mint, lemon and cucumber drink seems help the shoulder part. The part that's being the weirdest is the neck side. Cobra and Cat poses (Hatha? style yoga) with Aki-Do, QuiGong (fun to look up videos.^_^) seems to for a bit get my body such that it's happyER before it starts complaining again. The routine feels a little nicer to my system. I have another acupuncture meeting next month as the school takes a break. All in all the routine is helping managing things.

Tizanidine is an adrenergic alpha-agonist. Google it. Its a serious drug. I had a terrible time on and getting off it. I had interdose withdrawals that sent my blood pressure spiking and my anxiety off yhe charts! I had to taper off.

Tizanidine does not always work for everyone, my doctor prescribed this for me because all the other mediation either made me feel nauseated and or hangover the next day, but this little pill has done wonders for me when I cannot sleep because of my migraines. I do not always take it but only when I cannot sleep due to migraines and I wake up the next day feeling better because I was able to get at minimum of five hours (some times more if I hit the sack at 10) of uninterrupted sleep. Medication may work for one person and not for others, Acupuncture is I believe just awesome if the right person knows what they are doing, now I know why the one who charged me double more than the others did is because he is good. I hope you are feeling better.

Re: JR (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks all ^_^. Since I last pasted me the Acupuncturist and General Doctor are experimenting with a bunch of approaches. Since it's a school it's a little hit hand mis and experimental. One person I saw I felt a lot better for a few days before feeling not as good. However. Not as stiff and off as before. As I understand it acupuncture helps by gently helping the body repair. I simply don't know how exactly. And your right it's awse when it works and pretty much...eh when it doesn't. My doctor has out right said (one) of the issues something is causing them to get inflamed pretty regularly. Their's a few other acupunturists in town. One does both styles of medicine. Regular doctor thinks she can write up a referal to that person so as she and them can worktogether. Were also experimenting with small amount of Meloxicam durring the day(2-3MG as needed) and then a larger (7or so MG) dose in the evening for afew days. The idea is to see if that'll help it heal. So far so good! One of the Acupuncturist at the school who's had a simillar issue sugested I ask the doctor if that might work for me. He also sugested I try Maca a more energetic KavaKava. So far only a few days and feeling a bit better. The Main doc when I saw her Tuesday is going to look into other options we're looking into still other options.

Re: JR (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

One more quick thing. I don't meen to sound as if I'm bashing Tizanidine. rather it did weird things or simply the "uh oh!" amount did.

I think it's awesome the GP heard of KavaKava wants me to start with that for what ever the root issue is then go to heavy handed things.

it for me for as she put it "big ol' MEAN dragon flare ups." I also think it's great we're tryint to work as a team on my health weirdnesses. Next up is to see if Diazapam+Valarian+Perlosec(SP) might do the trick

Re: Bugsby (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

As a quick follow up yet another set of tools added to the mix are MultiVits, VitD3, and Magnesium, ginseng, relaxation tricks, like using rolled towel under the neck, CBD's (vaporized) as needed, ginseng and trying to move from a lot of coffee to just a cup or two a day and the rest of the time tea. We're also using Meloxicam as needed with HZT and water pills. Sure I go the bathroom tons and stand to work. Anyone that comes across my post should know it's a combination of TechNeck and TMJ issues. The CBD I like leaves me a little happy go lucky clear headed place helps the inflammation issues from technech.
