The translation for this medication name is Terramycin, and the ingredients which you listed above translate to Oxytetracycline - Polymyxin B.

I have a student whose mom couldn't get a Dr. appt., so she went to the Mexican market and bought this to use in her child's eyes. The child has puffy eyelids and puffiness below the eyes, but both eyes were completely normal in appearness: no redness, nothing oozing or collecting in the corners. If this is a medicine for an eye infection, could it be harmful to use it when there is no infection? What do you recommend?

I would recomend her getting Boric Acid and Destilled water and make a eye wash, or she can get it pre packed with eye cup. It is very soothing to the eye and if she is getting a fungle infection this will help use it ever 3-4 hours

I have a tube of this and could not remember what we used it for. My granddaughter had eye surgery and I think it is from that but cannot remember. I just didn't want to throw it away if that is what it is for.

HI! I have had eczema on my hands all my life and by accident I found the cure (and also, I think, the cause). At the age of 40 my eye doctor prescribed oxytetracycline-polymyxin B for what he said was an eye infection caused by Staph. This ointment cleared it up and it also cleared up by eczema on my fingers at the same time!!! After applying it to my eyes I guess I would rub the excess on my fingers because it felt good. Well, it must have killed the bacteria hiding in my cuticles (which were always inflamed and compromised) because my eczema cleared up 100% for the first time in my entire 40 years of life!! For 15 years I was fine and pretty much eczema free which amazed my family. Then about 5 years ago it started again. I tolerated it for a few years and finally, on a trip to Mexico 6 weeks ago I bought 2 tubes of oxytetracycline-polymyxin B. In Mexico you don't need a prescription or doctor visit so I bought it and started using it and it cleared it up immediatetly (1 week). My dermatologist does not know this!!!
