Tenex for sleeplessness

TENEX was prescribed to my 14 year old. 1mg to be taken before bedtime to work with help of sleeping. She also takes 54 mg of Concerta in the morning. She has ADD, however Tenex is not working to help her sleep (but she's only been on for 2 nights). ## Hello, Sheila! How are you and your daughter? This medication can cause drowsiness as a side effect, but it does not actually induce sleep, according to the FDA. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation. Has he doctor made any other suggestions?

Does anyone have any information about Tenex ?

If I had details I wouldn't need any information! Like why is it prescribed? Does it have any side effects? ## Hello, Boggie! How are you? No worries, I'm happy to help! First of all, all medications carry the risk of causing side effects, it's just the hazard of adding some chemical to your body to rectify a problem. Tenex is listed by the FDA as containing the active ingredient Guanfacine, which is most commonly used to treat hypertension, though it has also been shown to be effective at treating ADHD. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, dizziness, constipation and weakness. Is there anything else I can help with?

can my son take musunex with tenex and ritalin

My 6 year old son takes 1 mg of Tenex and 10 mg of Ritalin in the morning once a day for Add /Adhd combination. Can he take Musunix Dm for his bad cold? ## Hello, Iris! How is your son? To be honest, no medication should be given to a child, without their doctor's approval, especially when they are taking prescription medications. Young children may suffer more pronounced side effects or interactions than adults, so you should always check into it, before dosing. Are there any other questions or concerns?
