telma 20 or telma 40 - which tablet is stronger? ## The higher dosage, the 20 is a 20mg Telma tablet and the 40 is a 40mg Telma tablet. But the operative question is, which one has your doctor told you to take? Telmisartan is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Taking too much can be dangerous, as it could lower your blood pressure and heart rate too much. ## I am 70+ so is telma 20 or telma 40 mg tablet should be used regularly to maintain my blood pressure. ## My BP is 160/110 and pulse rate 110. my blood pressure used to be 150/90 or 140/90. The doctor prescribed me Telmisartan BP 40mg & Metoprolol Succinate USP 25 mg about 3 months back. After 2 months BP came down to 120/80 but, now for the last one week I am facing severe gas problem in stomach & chest. On 17/05/2011 evening I had severe pain and consumed fruit salt (ENO), Pantoprazole+ Itopride& also (Colinol) a pain killer for stomach ache. But, they did not prove to be useful at all. Now since 20/05/2011 I am having chest & stomach pain due to gas every day although I am taking "Pantoprazole 40 mg & Domperidone IP 30 mg but, I am not getting any relief from pain. I have been on Sandoz Telmisartan 80 mg for many years and my pharmacy has switched me to Auro Telmisartan 80 mg. Is the Auro brand safe and comparable to Sandoz? ## Yes, they are comparable, both are Telmisartan, just manufactured by different companies. The typical Telmisartan side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, headache, and hypotension. Have you started taking it, yet? I am hypertensive patient for the last 24 years & now aged 81 years. In the last one month, there is fluctuation in BP. It is going upto 200/100. I am under treatment of hypertension and abnormality of Left Ventrical (LV has thickened) and also for prostrat enlargement. My age is 56 years. Hi, I am 42 years old and am running higher BP. I was using Amlong 5 mg and the tablets got exhausted. My friend who has the same problem is using Eritel 40. I am advised by doctor to take 80 mg telmisartan + 5mg amlodipine for hypertension. But due to unavailability of 80 mg telmisartan I was advised to take 40mg telmisartan+ 5 mg amlodipine morning and 40 mg telmisartan at evening. After taking split dose of telmisartan 40 mg morning and evening I am feeling strange and anxious and unable to sleep smoothly following two three days. What may be the problem?

I am using this for past 9 months the above medicine(morning) and clinidipine 10mg at night my weight reduced nearly 7kgs and also at present borderline in blood sugar and my triglyceride also increased slightly.
