Is it common to gain weight when you're on Co-Pritor? I have picked up 10 kg's since I started with the High blood medication. Your advice and help would be appreciated. ## Co-Pritor contains the active ingredients Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. From what I've read on each of those individual medications, neither of them list weight gain as a possible side effect. Interestingly enough, "loss of appetite" is listed as a side effect of Hydrochlorothiazide. And from my understanding of nutrition, when you eat a lot less than you're used to having (or not eating every few hours), your metabolism can slow down significantly in response to that. As per my doctor's advice, I have been taking telma 40 (one in the morning for 25 days) along with Vertin 24 (2 tablets per day). My blood pressure varies from 68/110 to 72/114. My doc . Prescribed Telma am after the By Pass to control BP but the BP was around 165/85. So he changed to Telma 40. The BP is still 170/ 85. Now he has again advised me to shift to Telma am. Can Tellzy 40 be taken in place of Valent 40 for managing high blood pressure? ## Tellzy contains the active ingredient Telmisartan, while Valent is listed as containing Valsartan, so while they are in the same medication class and treat the same conditions, they are different medications and a different dosage may be required, if you switch from one to the other. I am a 49 year old lady with hbp 130/90 and suffering from diabetes recently. Earlier, i had taken amolvas m 5/25 for high blood pressure. After suffering from diabetes my doctor prescribed tazloc beta 25 one daily at night and after 7 days my BP lowered down to 90/73. I am feeling uneasiness.
