generic for tamoxifen but looks different than previous prescription ## Given the description provided, I located the pill to be Tamoxifen citrate (10 mg). It is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories Inc. Tamoxifen is an antagonist of the estrogen receptor in breast tissue. Some breast cancer cells require estrogen to grow. Estrogen binds to and activates the estrogen receptor in these cells. Tamoxifen is metabolized into compounds that also bind to the estrogen receptor but do not activate it. Because of this competitive antagonism, tamoxifen acts like a key broken off in the lock that prevents any other key from being inserted, preventing estrogen from binding to its receptor. Hence breast cancer cell growth is blocked. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link belo...

Please help Me identify this pill I found, Its small Yellow, Scored on One side and Has What looks like a planet on the other Side. I Have no Idea As to what it Could be, Can Anyone Please Help Me Out?! ## I can't be 100% certain of this identification, since it appears to be a foreign tablet, however, from what I can find, it is listed as containing Tamoxifen, which is an anti-estrogen, used to treat breast cancer and some other health conditions. The brand name for it is Nolvadex. Are there any questions or comments? ## did you find out what the pill was? I just found one

Have had a lump removed above the right breast last week. Path reports say that the margins were clear and no lymph node involvement. I will see the surgeon and oncologist next week. I also have a blood disease called essential Thrombocythemia, (body makes too many platelets) so that complicates things for my treatment. The good thing is that my hematologist of 17 years is also my oncologist. I know from advice that chemo is for safety after all is said and done, but would like some advice on what is really bad news.
