Systemic Lupus
UpdatedMY SON AGED 22, WAS HAVING SEVERE PAIN IN THE JOINTS AND FATIGUE. WE CONSULTED A RHEUMATOLOGIST. AFTER DETAILED BLOOD STUDIES HE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT MY SON IS HAVING SLE (HIS ANA COUNT WAS 836 AND THE ANA PROFILE INDICATED SLE).FOR LAST 18 MONTHS HE IS TAKING HCQS, PREDMET(PREDNISOLONE WITH METFORMIN), CALCIUM WITH D3,METHOTRAXATE(20MG PER WEEK) AND SOME VITAMIN TABLETS. RECENTLY, HE HAD PROBLEMS WITH CONCENTRATION WITH STUDIES, IRREGULAR SLEEP AND DEPRESSION FEELING. HE CONSULTED A PSYCHIATRIST WITH THE PERMISSION OF HIS REGULAR DOCTOR. THE DOCTOR GAVE HIM SIZODON(RASPIRODON)0.5 MG AND NEXITO FORTE. NOW, HE IS SOMEWHAT ALRIGHT.
MY DOUBT IS WHETHER HE CAN BE SIMULTANEOUSLY GIVEN ANTIARTHRITIC,STEROID AND PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS.AND HOW LONG HE WILL HAVE TO TAKE? ARE THE DRUGS APT FOR HIS CONDITION? I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THE SLE DRUGS MAY BE TAKEN FOR A VERY LONG PERIOD. IN THAT CASE, CAN HE HAVE A HEALTHY MARITAL RELATIONSHIP AND A JOB WHICH DEMANDS HIGH CONCENTRATION.? AT PRESENT HE IS HAVING NORMAL PHYSIQUE WITH NORMAL BLOOD PARAMETERS.KINDLY ADVISE.
