My wife uses susten SR 300 as suggested by her doctor. Today is the 16th day of her period cycle. She takes one tablet at night. How should she plan her dosing around intercourse?

Hello Arthri,

Progesterone is an endogenous steroid and progestogen sex hormone. It is also crucial in the production of other endogenous steroids, including the sex hormones as well as being a neurosteroid.

As a medication there are multiple ways to administer the drug; by mouth, topical/transdermal, vaginal, intramuscular injection, subcutaneous injection, subcutaneous implant.

I will list some important information concerning this medication.

Listed Side Effects:

- Headache
- Breast Tenderness
- Joint Pain
- Depression
- Dizziness
- Abdominal Bloating
- Hot Flashes
- Urinary Problems
- Abdominal Pain
- Vaginal Discharge

Active Ingredients:

The instructions from the manufacturer are to administer the tablets once per day at bedtime. I recommend taking this medication right before you decide to sleep so that you can avoid dealing with any possible side effects such as dizziness and fatigue during intercourse.
