Has anyone used the new SUPREP kit before a colonoscopy?

Would like any comments about taste, ease or side effects.

Thanks!

Was the 2nd bottle easier. Were there less bowel movements? How long did take to stop going to the bathroom?

Ok people, I'm posting this hoping I help at least one of you out there- all love. :)

First- IT'S NOT NEARLY AS BAD AS EVERYBODY SAYS! I have the weakest stomach ever, and the mix I'm about to tell you worked so well it actually became acceptable to drink.

Second- MIX WITH SPRITE or GINGER ALE - NOT WATER. I like Canada Dry and that worked quite well. This will turn it into a very close approximation of Diet Coke. (!) The sugar helps and the carbonation helps. Ginger happens to be a natural anti-nausea so that's a bonus for me. I happened to hate diet drinks but if that's the worst you have, you're golden.

Thirdly- MOST IMPORTANT - SIP, USE A STRAW AND DRINK SLOWWWW! Do NOT chug or rush like others may tell you. That is a mistake. I took almost 65 minutes to drink and I had no nausea at all. In fact I was excited to drink the additional 32oz of water you need to take!

YOU GOT THIS, GO FOR IT AND HELP OTHERS TO BE LESS AFRAID OF THIS LIFE SAVING PROCEDURE!

Just took the Suprep cocktail. Took the first dose at 6 pm on the prep day after being on the liquid fast. The stuff is sickening sweet. I walked around as I drank it while taking sips of water between large swigs. Finished the vile stuff in roughly 5-8 minutes. Downed the 32 ounces of water in about 15 minutes. I promptly got chills and decided to plant myself in the bathroom to see which end was going to erupt. My bottom won out. My eruption started about 25-30 minutes after I finished all of the prep and water. It was suprisingly quick. As others have said it was literally like peeing brown water. I was passing fairly clear water after about 45 minutes. I took the second dose around 4 am and passed nothing but clear water again. This stuff is nasty as Hell but it does the job.

BTW, colonoscopy results were all clear.

You had cramps because of the plugger situation - you had a bunch of stuff up front with diarrhea pushing behind which causes a lot of pain

You were empty on second clean so that’s why it didn’t hurt

I know about pluggers because if IBS - can be so agonizing they drop your BP and give you cold sweats

New as in "when"? I know the norm in most products. This usually means the product is failing and "new" is a beg off in an attempt to keep sales up.

I used surprep for my scope yesterday. It tasted horrible. Nausea, headache and sick feeling all over. Today is the day after the procedure and still not feeling right!

So happy he's able to tolerate this particular product while others have suffered so much from it. Wishing you both continued goos health.

Hi, my husband just had his colonscopy last week and used suprep. Actually, it's easier than and taste better than the gallon of stuff we use to use and doesn't take as long. He mixed one with "white grape juice" and one with "ginger ale" he preferred the juice. Also I asked the pharmacist and he said it would be ok to mix and refrigerate so would be nice and cold to drink prior. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Re: Diane (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

I had a similar experience. Although I had some movement after about an hr it took my body almost 5hrs before I made significant progress eliminating after taking the first dose. Warm mint tea helped me along the way and kept my body warmed too. The color of the BMs didn’t change on the first day but I was finally able to go to bed at 11PM. By that time my body was exhausted and I slept through until about 4:30AM. I started the second dose in the morning at 4:45 and it seemed to begin to work much faster. After drinking the solution I started walking around the house for about 10-15min, and after about 20min I was able to get on with the elimination. I drank the 2 glasses of water throughout the hour and noticed that the BMs we’re coming much faster and easier after each sip. With the second dose there was much less bloating compared to the day before and within the hour the stools began to run clearer. I was glad to see this because I really didn’t want to have to postpone my procedure after fasting and drinking the super sweet but still bitter Suprep solution.

Yes, apple juice chaser got me through it. Don't think I would have kept it down otherwise. It helped get rid of that nasty/salty aftertaste.

I got the first bottle down, but amost puked it up. I kept it down, but I've had a migraine all day and was worried to take my sumatriptan a day before the surgery. Anyways, I felt nauseous before even drinking it.
It was making me use the restroom like it should, but my head still hurts. Two hours into it I had to go hurl. There was no holding back. I think I could totally see that stuff. Hopefully keeping it down two hours is fine. I'm gonna take my 2nd dose later tonight or early morning.
Anyways, good luck to those trying this!
If I didn't have such a horrible headache, I'm sure this would be easy.

Re: Rah Rah (# 735) Expand Referenced Message

So I had the colonoscopy on the 15th and all is well, I had no polyps and they won’t see me for another 7 yrs. Praise the Lord!! Given the distance I had to travel I elected to take the 2nd dosage earlier than recommended and it went down without a hitch. Others mentioned using Vaseline; I figured this product may be harsh so I used Aquaphor which I already had on hand.

I just came off the whole deal.. suprep was disgusting. i mixed it with koolade or gatorade of your choice. is still is horrible but I could drink it in about three gulps every 5 minutes or so, fifteen minutes. of course the second dose was worse since i knew what to expect.

I started farting soon after and hit the bathroom at one hour and was done after about 2-3 hours.
I had stopped eating 48 hours before except clear liquid and jello or gummie bears. yes they disolve and will help you feel full...

but i ate about 4 hours after I went home, and now 18 hours later still have loose stool.. dont know when it stops....

good luck . it tastes horrible , i dont get how that cant be fixed by the industry. or they dont care..

i dont have to do it again for 10 years. whew..

YES!! The Worst Pain since having my baby over 40 years ago!!! Drank huge amounts of water- cramps quit after about 45 min.
But I have been on the toilet for close to 3 hrs (still sipping water). Every time I get up it starts again!!

Yesterday I used Suprep for the first time and found the taste to be tolerable, I told a family member much more so than Citroma, believe it or not. I guess it really depends upon your taste buds. It worked quickly, I didn’t have the cramping, vomiting and bloating as some have stated. When I’m required to have my next colonoscopy would not mind using it again; plus the doctor provided the product, no out of pocket cost for me. : )
