Sunnett is a sugar substitute made from vinegar sulfur and potassium. Less calories and safe for diabetics.

However, it is not a wafer, but a tablet; it does not taste like the ones I took as a child; and so far they have not worked for me to repell mosquitoes. I am still being attacked when I go outside. I hate using Deet, but that is the only thing I have used that works. I also spent a lot of money on this new off fan and refills, with little results. Any comments would be appreciated.

You might want to give vitamin B1 a try to lessen the number of bites. Worked wonders for my husband and son on a two week camping trip. You can do a Google on vitamin B1 mosquito bites.

The last time I purchased the wafers was when my 33 yr old was in 1st grade, the Pharmacist told me they could no longer order them but he had one bottle in the back! Sulfa and sulfur are two different things! Sulfa contains sulfur but according to several web sites the allergy is from the molecule reaction of the nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen combined with the sulfur. Sulfur is found in amino acids necessary for life.
I'm going to try the recipe of:
1/8 tsp powered sulfur
1/4 tsp honey
and add 1/2 tsp. of Cream of Tartar and maybe a drop of lemon or vanilla-can't hurt! I'll let you know how it turns out!

When my kids were growing up I gave them sulfur cream of tartar tablets and they never were sick. I can not understand why they took those tablets of the market. I would like to have some for my grandchildren.

Have you had a chance to make and try the sulphur, lemon, cream of tartar recipe yet? I am about to make it for myself. I found the Red Arrow product at the company that produces it in Texas, but they wanted me to sign some kind of contract before selling me 1 bottle. I just want to use it for myself to prevent chiggers. Decided I didn't want to get involved in some legal situation just to ward off mosquitos so I guess I will just have to mix my own. Hope it works.

I'm also taking the 1/8 teaspoon sulfur mixed in a teaspoon of molasses daily for 1st week. I'm on day 5 with no ill effects. Following will be the week of every other day, and 3rd week of every 3rd day, followed by once a month. I found this about repelling ticks. Hope it works for mosquitoes too. It'd be a big bonus in Minnesota.

Additional Info: People allergic to sulfa medication might ask a doctor, though doctors have to do what they're told and may not recommend. Also I came across where women may be more prone to yeast infections on it, and some people with gastric reactions could experience the runs. Also seems to be indications that higher amounts taken orally could be dangerous. Be careful out there.
