Suffering Side Effects Of Levaquin

I was given levaquin intravenously on 8/21,22/2013. It is now 2016. My balance is of and I have nerve damage, so severe that I had to take 8 weeks of therapy to try and get most of this corrected, and other life changing problems like depression, short term memory lost, confusion and hallucination. Sad part is I live in Arkansas. I've spoken with maybe four different law firms and no one will take my case. My pcp and a ENT specialist are covering up the fact that levaquin is the cause of all this and I have documentation to prove my allegation. I resigned from my job of nearly 14 years in December of 2015 because I just couldn't do it anymore walking 15 minutes my whole body locks up as if I weigh 2000 lbs and that's after laying down or sitting for that length of time. Does anyone out there have any advice or answers please?

Hello, Wesley! How are you? I am very sorry about what you've experienced.

However, as long as such side effects are noted as being possible, regardless of how rare they may be, then you have no legal case. It is considered that you accepted the risk by taking the medication, or agreeing to have it administered to you.

I understand this is frustrating and doesn't help solve your issues, I'm just letting you know why the various lawyers you consulted would not take on this case. A legal case against a drug manufacturer is only possible if they didn't release certain risks, contraindications and etc. for public knowledge and to the FDA, but did know they were possible.

With your doctors also not agreeing, then matters are further complicated.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Levaquin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

Are you on any other medications that may contribute? Do you have any other diagnosed medical conditions?

I cured my Levaquin toxicity with chlorella. Chlorella is a green algae superfood that detoxifies the body of heavy metals. It is also nutrient-dense and provides high amounts of magnesium and other essential vitamins and minerals that Levaquin and other quinolones can cause deficiencies of. I took a tablespoon of chlorella for 2 months. I am now cured. My insomnia and heart palpitations are gone. Chlorella is also high in protein so I still take it as part of my diet for overall health. The brand I used was "Nutricost." You can get 300 grams of chlorella on Amazon for only $15 dollars. I hope this information helps someone because all the doctors I saw were completely useless to me. Levaquin didn't even cure the infection it was prescribed for. I am now supplementing with monolaurin, a natural antibiotic/probiotic combo. I take 3 grams, twice a day for chronic prostate infection. After 10 months, my symptoms are lower than ever. I expect to be cured within the next 6 months.
