Subutex - Providers/doctors/psychiatrists Who Prescribe It

Updated

I would like to create a thread to serve as a resource for those who need subutex instead of suboxone. If you are aware of ANY providers or physicians who will prescribe it: for those who are allergic to naloxone, or to those who do not have insurance - this information will benefit many addicts. So, let's share information and use this as a helpful resource.

Hi my name is Shelley and I am currently on zubzolv and it does not help. I am doing research on it he new law that just passed to find out if I am breastfeeding is the doctor supposed to keep me on subutex. I have been on subutex for 8 months and just had a baby as of June 15 2015. I told my doctor I am still breastfeeding. My baby is only a month old but he still switched me to zubzolv and it has naloxone in it which the baby is not supposed to consume. The baby gets a portion of whatever I take in through my breast milk. I am so mad about this new law and worried that about my baby getting it. I have asked a pharmacist and a couple of doctors but no body can tell me anything except the pharmacist and they looked up the law and told me that the doctor was supposed to keep me on the subutex so now I am so confused and I really want to call my doctor and threaten him with my lawyer. lol I cant stand my doctor.... If you could please help me and tell me what you think please. I don't know how to get answers otherwise... thank you

My first instinct was to advise you to call your baby's pediatrician & ask her the question about the zubzolv verses Subutex. The pediatrician knows you're taking Subutex? If your Pediatrician knows about the Sub then ask her to call the Dr prescribes the Zubzolv & straighten him out. If the Pediatrician doesn't know about the Subutex thats another can of worms you might not want to open. Do you have access to google that you could go to the Zubzolv manufacturer website and find out all you need to know about how it's affecting your baby. Good luck and good health to you and your little one!

Hello all. I am a nurse and also in recovery for five years. I like most of y'all reading this thread had a physical addiction to opiates. Background to my addiction is like many others. I was prescribed percocet with Vicodin for break through pain for three years after having my first child. Knowing all that I did from work and life experiences with friends I still began to spiral out of control and ended up needing more and more until I hit my rock bottom and was spending hundreds of dollars a day buying those little blue devil pills we know as perc 30's, ten at a time to save a few bucks but going through them in a day. Then I turned up pregnantl. I knew I had to change. I searched and found a suboxone clinic that accepted pregnant women. I was given subutex like you girl who is questioning the doc now giving you zubsolve. Like the one lost said does the babies pediatrician know BC if not you will be in hot water no offense just being real. Doctors that have an X license to prescribe subs of all brands are trained and monitored by the state. They are not going to prescribe you something that could harm your child. The addict and the nurse in me is telling me that you simply want to keep the subutex BC you are enjoying them. It's well known in the world of opiate addicts that people are way more likely to abuse their subutex BC there is no naloxone/narcan in it. So just get on board with your recovery. You are probably not breastfeeding still. Why would you be? Buprenorphine excreted in breast milk is being ingested by your baby. Not good. Be honest with yourself. Or give the baby to someone who is able to care for them without using them as a tool to continue to abuse opiates. Also to all those people who claim they are allergic to narcan just quit. That's extremely extremely rare no doctor is gonna believe that unless you've landed in the ICU BC of it. Hope this is helpful and to you mama I'm not being hateful or judgemental I'm just giving you a reality check from someone who has been there. God bless.

This place DOES NOT accept medicaid, and I'm uncertain about private insurance. They are a bit costly but they'll ask you what med you want and give it to you... Most patients take Subutex at this location, and the other handful take Suboxone, Zubzolve, or Bunavail; scripts are between 60 qty - 90 qty a month (2-3/day). Best part is, THEY DONT REQUIRE MEETINGS, THERAPY, OR OTHER CRAP THAT'S A WASTE OF TIME. They have very flexible payment plans allowing you to pay for your visit (really the script):

Wkly/ $95
Bi-Wkly/ $190
Monthly/ $375

I am looking for a doctor in north AL who will prescribe subutex. The dr I see will only write subutex if you have hepatitis c. I was on methadone for 17 yrs and don't want to go back down that road. I also have adhd and will need them to treat that also.
