Substitute For Hyd Polst Chlor Pol

My wife as an allergic type react when codone or hydrocodne or any drug with codone in it. She starts itching and gets jittery and said she can't stand her on skin. Saying all of this she has a very deep congested cough and sometimes it's uncontrollable. Our MD said that he is very very limited in what he can give her for this condition. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How is she with regular decongestants?

Has her doctor had her try any of them, something that would help remove the congestion that is causing the problem, since they Hydrocodone really only suppresses the coughing.

She can take a small dose of regular decongestants at a time.

I allergic to sulfa. I'm a nurse and see.there is a sjlfa.molecule attatched to the compound. Just a heads up.

you could try promethazine(an antihistamine and D2 agonist) and maybe try the non-synthetic ie. codeine or morphine those changes might fix your allergie to codones they are semi-synthetic made from theibeine which by itself isn't active and act's more like a scafold to make a whole host of morphones and codones. codeine is great for coughs and morphine for pain and the promethazine is for the itch as well as making the opiates more effective.
