Suboxone Recall

Updated

Has anyone noticed that the 8-2 sublingual strips have not been working as well for the last 3 months? Well they recalled them about 10 days ago! I noticed they were lighter in color and some of them were starting to crack. Help!

Have you informed your pharmacy? In most cases you have to return to the source in order for a recall issue to be handled and to receive a replacement.

For example, if you own a Ford and they issue a recall, you have to take your vehicle to a Ford dealer in order to receive a repair, or replacement.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Has anyone else experienced problems?

Good evening everyone. I called the manufacturer that makes Suboxone. There hasn't been a recall on the Strips ever. So I don't know what's going on, but I called myself and I did ask. If you would like to call and ask here's the number. 1-877-782-6966. Just trying to help. Have a great evening.

Hi.
I left a message a couple weeks ago and I left a phone number to the company that makes Suboxone. But obviously you cannot leave a phone number so they wouldn't post it. There has been no recall for suboxone at all. Call if you don't believe me. No recall on Suboxone.
EVER!!!

I started suboxone 2mg/0.5mg in may 2017 and was working fine up until November 2017 and since then it has not worked anymore for my depression - I am wondering if there is something wrong with the drug and I got some bad batches since nov? Is there anyone out there that has been using this drug for depression? I thought I would be able to take it for years an now it pooped out after a great 5 month run of feeling normal.

Hello
There is absolutely no recall on Suboxone. There never has been. What makes you think there's a recall? I called the company myself and there is no recall and there has never been a recall.
Best wishes.

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I have been prescribed Suboxone for a few years now and take them faithfully and I have never had any sort of issues such as the Suboxone is not working as it should. In fact, this is the first time I've ever heard of such a complaint like this. To the patients who are taking Suboxone...Are you taking it as prescribed? Are you taking it correctly? Are you taking any other meds that could possibly interfere with the effects of Suboxone? I can assure you there is no recall on Suboxone. These complaints sound a bit questionable. Sorry, no offense.

Re: johnny (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

Suboxone has a honeymoon period, sometimes years, but it sounds like you have hit that time period. You can expect it to worsen. Dropping your dose slowly to 2mgs sometimes helps but you must go very slowly, 20% reductions every 10-14 days.

I know this is an old thread but my husband and I just got suboxone strips 2mg/0.5mg and they definitely are not working! We stopped taking opiates 24 hours before taking them and they did NOT stop our withdrawal!

Re: Kimberly (# 9) Expand Referenced Message

UPDATE on the generic Suboxone 8.2mg film. A friend of mine who is also a Suboxone patient recently went to the doctor to get her monthly prescription & when she went to the pharmacy to fill the prescription, the pharmacist informed her that all the patients who are prescribed Suboxone, will be getting the brand name Suboxone again which is Reckett & Benkeiser?? ( Probably incorrect spelling). Anyway, the pharmacist told her that the generic Suboxone were being recalled until further notice?! Has anyone else heard the same story? I am scheduled to go to my doctor Monday, so I won't know for certain until then. I'll be sure to post my update then.

I had a prob with suboxone in November 2017. Up until then the film was working perfectly but then it was no help and I finally stopped in march 2018. I am in florida and get suboxone from publix - I am very very curious if anyone else had this experience, now that u said your pharmacy told u that the generic is ng. {edited for privacy}

Re: DD (# 14) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, I have to say, I have never had a problem or a suspension or much of a thought that my medicine has lost it's potency, been altered, or simply not working for me anymore. Also, last month is the first time my prescription was in the generic form of Suboxone, and even then, I've felt absolutely no difference or change. I also went to my doctor today for my refill but I won't be picking it up until tomorrow to see if they did in fact recall the generic for whatever reason & filled my script with the brand name again. I'll definitely know tomorrow, though.
