Suboxone Morning

Updated

I have been on suboxone for about a year now and I'm wondering if I or my Dr is doing something wrong? I feel normal all day, but when I wake up in the morning, I feel like I got hit by a bus. I wake up and take my sub immidatly trying to advoid the pain but it normally takes me a hour-hour & a half to feel good enought to get dressed for work..etc. I don't know how to describe it other then it feels like my stomach is being twisted up. Any help or suggestions would be helpful. I only ask cause my Dr seems to blow it off and send me on my way.

All medications only last a certain period of time, so it is normal for there to be a time period where it will wear off and you may have to wait for your next dose to kick in.

The biggest problem I see here is your doctor not addressing your concerns. Is this his usual behavior?

Hi John,
How many mg of sub do you take? I started taking sub 5 weeks ago. I started on 8mg per day. Doc did not want me the get used to taking it 2 times per day. I felt like s*** in the afternoon and when I woke up even worst. I asked him to increase the dose to 16mg I stayed on that for 2 weeks and again I started feeling like s***. Same as you describe how you feel in the morning. So I started taking 24mg and I am really happy with this dose. One thing I also noticed was ( I started a new job) if I took the sub before work I would feel a bit dopy so I changed it so I take it after work now instead. When I wake up I feel really good. Not sure if this would work for you. I was so worried about taking that dose as most forums I have read think that 24mg is to high. But for me it worked
