Hi Jazz, Don,t know if it,s covered or not. Have you tried going to the suboxone site and entering your area code to find sub drs? You could do that and call some of them and just ask and maybe you,ll get some ideas. Good luck Oh ya, Some Phyciatrists can prescribe subs too.

I did, but only straight medicaid covers any dr. I go to a dr in 2 days. It will b a miracle if he can jump thru hoops. Also, im checking out PACE. They may cover 4 mths treatment. Ill check in and pass the news if true. Ty and God bless!

You heard wrong, Molina is the best one you could have to get the best coverage on suboxone visits and prescriptions. My friends on it and pays nothing, he just refferred me.

It depends on your state and your health plan is\f your state uses Medicaid Health Plans managed by outside companies. It may also depend on your age and the type of Medicaid you have. For example if it's straight Medicaid or if you're on spend down or another program.

Oakland- yep! I called molina and they said no. Also, i heard the wd are terrible from sub. Id have to be on it for life. Im disabled so paying out of pocket after they stop paying, aint happening. Really look into sub maintenance before u leap. Its a bunch of red tape, but im struggling to stay clean!!

I just got signed up for molina yesterday, here's what you have to do, they said they dont cover the sub but what you can do is have the dr do a pre authorization. Dr Arthur Herold in Garden City is the dr I chose and is where my friend goes to who also has Molina and he had to have the sub get pre authorized. That dr also has an in office pharmacy where you can pick up your prescription for sub so I think that also is why he can pre authorize it to where Molina will cover it free.

Ok!! Great info. But...do u know they stop after a year- i think, and than sub wd. Im just sayin... Be informed! If they go longer than a year let me know. I think w the aca,. Obamacare, they are paying more for substance abuse. Ty

Molina themselves don't cover the medication, but the state straight Medicaid does. If that makes any sense? Lol I have Molina and have been on it for a year now. They cover the costs 100%. Your dr office just needs to call into the insurance company and get it authorized, hence" preauthorization". They don't have to have their own pharmacy connected to the dr office for them to be able to cover it. The dr does have to be licensed to care for opiet dependency though. They are not hard to find. Good luck in your journey to becoming sober :)

I was on suboxone for a year and after my year was up, they kicked me off of it which made my Dr resort to prescribing me methadone. Worst mistake of my life. It's been about 8 no the now since I've been on the methadone and I'm wondering if Molina (mi) will cover me another year for suboxone. Do you know if the will?

Hi I was in treatment a re_hab center they only give you suboxone or subtext for 3days and I was fine not sick and felt OK but you have to go to meetings to help you stay strong so you don't relapse you can also get an addiction to suboxone so I don't have all the answers but I wouldn't stay on those for to long all the drug company's want to do is make money,so I would make sure you work with your doctor and express all your concerns good luck to you and god bless DEW!!

My boyfriend was just on the phone with his insurance, Molina, because his doc office said the pre authorization went thru but CVS said it did not. His insurance company said Molina DOES NOT cover Suboxone.

You have molina medicaid? And the doctor did the preauthorization for you? I am switching from Aetna to Molina because of the problems I've had is getting the preauthorization for Aetna, do all suboxone doctors meet the requirements of medicaid to prescribe it to me and can do the preauthorization? Because one doctor told me he couldn't see me because I had Aetna Medicaid, he told me to switch to Molina medicaid and he could see me, was that just b.s or was that true? He said he could loose his license, with prescribing me subs with Aetna medicaid, but said he could do it if I had molina I don't understand that? If anyone has and input I appreciate it, I'm at a lost for words, I saw another doctor dr.zarman and I have the perscription paper and tried turning it into the pharmacy and they denied me stating I need a preauthorization, any input would be great thank you everyone

That's the problem I am having, so you say to just call the doctors office and have them call the insurance company for a preauthorization? I have Aetna michigan medicaid, do all suboxone doctors meet the requirements? Because Im afraid they my deny my preauthorization, my doctor is dr.zarman in Hamtramck, he licensed to prescribe suboxone in the state of MI, is that good enough or does MI medicaid have some more requirements of the doctors, or is them being licensed to prescribe suboxoNE in MI good enough for the preauthorization

Hey Cee I have Aetna medicaid, I'm switching to Molina michigan medicaid, I live in Macomb county, you said molina medicaid covers it? If so that is a relief because Aetna is telling me I need a preauthorization to get it. Also do you know anything about someone buying a health insurance policy like a PPO, n because I am unemployed right now, I am 26 and just lost my parents good insurance and I'm a certified welder, but am not working because I need to get my stuff together. I've been to so many rehabs all over the United states and suboxone is the only thing that's worked for me, so my mom wants to buy me a policy because I am unemployed with no income. Am I able to buy a private policy or am I only able to get medicaid because of having no income???
