Suboxone And Valium (Page 4)

Updated

I have been on valium for approximately 12 years for severe anxiety and because of a severe back problems i was also put on percocet for years. Someone told me about suboxone. They said suboxone will help with the pain. So i went to a sub doc and told him i was on valium. He did not give me a U/A till months later. Doc said you are on a benzo. l said is that the valiums? He said yes. I said i told you i was on valium. He said you have to go off them. I was told if i go off my valiums i could have a seizure. I have been off the valium for a week. I am shaking and can't sleep. I feel sick. I was doing great with suboxone and valium. Now i am just sick. Please, someone help me.

I don't understand why they haven't tapered you slowly down instead of forcing you to withdraw You are correct about triggering seizures if abruptly stopping your regular doses.I went off Ativan and on Valium about 5 years ago to counteract black mold symptoms that wreaked havoc on my nervous system I never took more than 6 mg a day and now use 1/2 mg at night for sleep, but tapered myself at my own pace I recently signed on with a pain management doctor who put me on subaxone for chronic pain and I use 1-2.5mg daily strip He was not concerned with me using the valium at the dosage my body has used all these years. In my case, He trusted me and knows I am knowledgeable about drugs, addiction and interactions Even with me being in my late 60's the benefit outweighs the risks
I've tried stopping the valium as well, but the tremors and stiffness return to the point that my body seizes up and I can't function normally. I think you may want to search fit for a more proactive doctor and see if they will work with you instead of projecting their own protocols onto you .I have been where you are and it's torture
Best of luck to you

Not true
I am a chronic pain patient in Pain Management and use subaxone for spinal and nerve pain. I've been on opiods of all kinds and this is so much better for me and I also use a low dose of valium to offset tremors and muscle spasms from black mold contamination which caused neuromuscular damage Its been a godsend.

The naloxone creates a ceiling effect to prevent respiratory failure due to the suppression effect of narcotics and opiods, so it's very difficult to overdose on Subaxone unless abused which isn't related to those responsibly treating their chronic pain issues.

I get the concern by physicians about mixing the diazepam with the sub because of the depressive reaction in the body, but also if they are regulated and monitored by pain management or a physician that works with the patient like I have going on, there are no problems with death due to respiratory failure.

When another pain management clinic had me dosed up on morphine and dilaudid there were times I was afraid to sleep because of fear I wouldn't wake up the next day. I took myself off all that crap, found a great family physician who listened and worked with me, put me on Suboxone strips, allowed me to stay on a small dose of valium for sleep and my body healed enough that a maintenance dose gives me dignity and quality of life. One things I do appreciate with my new doctor is that he requires the label to state that the subaxone is treating chronic pain so there is no stigma of drug abuse connected to it

Don't just stop Valium you are in danger of a seizure you have to reduce slowly.

Actually Suboxone is a pain killer and is available in patches which are placed on the affected area.
