Suboxine To Quit Opioid Dependence

Updated

I am starting Suboxone tomorrow. I normally take 4 x 40 mg Oxycodone per day and also take 5 to 6 Vicodin ES. I want to be successful starting the suboxone and I do not know how long I have to wait before I start taking it. I really need some help and I want to start asap but want to see if this works before I ask my dr for a refill --- My dependence is costing me financially and is ruining my life.

Want off pain meds. 56, female, want info on cheapest alternative to suboxone and adderall. Feel the air sucked out of me. My passions now seem like chores. I've been happily married 41 years. I love horses, cats, dogs, and my work. I used to enjoy caring for them all but have found it hard lately.

Suboxone will make your cravings and withdrawal effects pretty much be gone. I used to spend tons on pills, and it ends up costing more than money. I think it's a miracle drug for people who want to quit, but their body just can't. It is for me anyway. You still have to want to quit, but this makes it so much easier. If you don't have a prescription, at least be very careful. There is a lot to know about this pill, you can't mix with others, etc. So make sure you do your homework before you do it. There are several websites with all the info you'll need, make sure you know what you're doing. I'm pretty much in the same boat, I'm sure that I don't want a pill habit anymore. I haven't been taking it very long. You don't need much. It lasts more than a day before you start to withdraw. I think it beats the alternative. Good luck, I hope you can kick the addict, too.

I hear subutex is much better then Suboxone. I hear Suboxone has a NASTY taste to it and the Naloxone in it can cause depression. I take subutex solely for depression and it does seem to help. As far as when to begin taking suboxone, MAKE SURE you are going into withdrawal before starting! I would say at least wait 36 hours from last does of any opiate. Make sure you are starting to REALLY feel withdrawal or else you will go into an induced withdrawal and that is 10 times worse!!! My friend ended up in the emergency room cause he did not wait at all. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!!

When starting Suboxone you must be in full withdrawal from all other opiates, before you start taking it, otherwise, there is a risk of it throwing you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. You can read more about it's use for opiate depence at that link from Daily Med. Side effects are also listed, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation, it also carries its own risk of being habit forming.

MinMin, while Subutex does not contain the Naloxone, most doctors will no longer prescribe it, unless the patient is pregnant, many now insist that a patient undergoing addiction treatment take Suboxone, to prevent the abuse of other opiates, while they are being treated.

I really hope everyone has experienced good results in their pursuit of help. Can you post back and let us know how you are doing?
