Stop Contrave

I have been on this for about a month. I was only taking 3 a day. I didn't feel comfortable taking 4. So my Dr said that was fine. Then Friday night I felt done swelling in my throat, but that subsided after a couple hours. I went to bed, got up to go to bathroom and my legs felt really heavy. So I laid back down and in about 5 minutes later got up, same thing. I also started feeling very nauseous. Thought maybe I was coming down with the flu. Never got sick, just felt bad. Finally was able to sleep. Still feeling bad the next morning. Decided to take only 1 the next morning. Decided to check my bp at Dillons. I know they are not real accurate, but give me an idea. My bp was 150/89. Went to minor med. They checked it, it was 130/90. So a little high. I am on bp meds. Didn't take me evening dose. Felt better later that evening. Decided not to take morning dose this morning. Hoping I don't have withdrawal. I have tried to find out what the symptoms are, but there is nothing! Hoping it works out OK.

As listed by the FDA, the typical withdrawal symptoms may include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, depression and anxiety.

Did you experience any symptoms? If you were only on it for about a month, then any possible withdrawal symptoms should, in theory, be mild and not last too long, but everyone is different.

What blood pressure medications are you taking?

I too am wanting to quit. 3 weeks in and cannot tolerate the ringing in my ears along with other symptoms. Should I stop cold or wing my self off?

I been on Contrave twice. The first time 2015 it took my hair out on the 3rd week 3 a day so i stopped! This time Dec 2017 second week 2 pills a day it has raised my blood pressure. Mr Doctor had me to monitor it for two weeks. Then two weeks without taking Contrave. My blood pressure is back to normal. As far as weigth lost. I have not notice any. Im done with Contrave. I'll be obesity but healthy.
