Stolen Oxycodone (roxi) Urine Test Need Advice!
UpdatedI have spinal digeneration and a 3 level fusion in my neck. On Wednesday, Dec 8th I refilled my rx of roxicodone 15mgs x 4 per day. On the 17th, they were stolen along with my credit card at McDonalds. I filed a police report & left a message to my pain management doctor asking them how to handle my pain until my next refill. No call back. Finally, after back and forth with several staff members, I'm told I will not be helped because they have refilled early for me in the past. I told them I never asked for an early refill, I asked how to handle my pain. I asked for withdraw medicine and a steroid pack before Christmas. They said my doc was out of town, had to text him, and they would fax over any RX he approves. My doc prescribed me a steroid pack but not withdrawal meds. My doctor's assistant/nurse told me I could refill on Dec 31st. Dec 31st rolls around and they tell me I can't have it until Fri, the 2nd because the refill wasn't due until the 4th & the 4th falls on a Sunday. The 2nd comes, and they tell me I can't have my prescription until the 8th. "We can see where there was misunderstanding because the RX was printed on the 4th but you didn't pick it up until the 8th. You can have your refill at that time." I had no idea what day my refill was due because my bottle was STOLEN. I told them I understand they are under scrutiny due to the narcotic laws, that it's not their fault that my medicine was stolen, and I appreciate that they have helped me in the past. However it is wrong to tell a patient on two separate dates that they can have their medicine & then deny it to the patient. "We will have to check with the doctor to see what he thinks on the matter." Obviously, there was no call back. They probably didn't tell him anything because that would be admitting neglect on their part.
Fortunately for me, my mom has an old bottle of 5mg percocets and gave me the majority of them because she couldn't stand me withdrawing and having tremors around my kids on the holidays. I've cut back over half of what I'm use to the last
two weeks but I still have percocet in my system. I have an appointment with him on Tuesday, Jan, 6th. I plan to bring my husband as an advocate on my behalf regarding the staff's neglect. Should I fess up and tell him that I was given medicine by a family member? Should I say I found old percocet bottle in my bathroom? At this point, my urine should be clean of any oxycodone. No doubt they will urine test me. I can't be fired. I can't live in this kind of pain. Over the counter drugs have done nothing for me and my mom's 5s have barely touched my pain.
