Hi, I have been in pain for some time now. I went to my dentist a 1 1/2 weeks ago. There is no swelling and no clearly visible reason on the X-rays as to explain why I am in pain. The dentist thinks it could be 1 of 2 teeth that are next to each other but can't be sure. He put me on clindamycin and said if the pain goes away then we know it was a small infection. But if the pain doesn't go away we will have to see what else could be going on. Well, I have been taking the clindamycin for one week today and have 4 more days of pills left but I am still in pain and taking too much ibuprohen. Do you gave any idea what else could be causing my pain? What do you think my dentist will look at when I go back?

Hello, Dee! How are you?

If there's nothing visible and nothing showed on the x-rays, it's a bit difficult to say. You may have some nerve damage from something, a tooth that's just very sensitive, or something else.

When do you see your dentist, again?

I got bit by a dog on my foot. It became very painful. I saw a doctor and am taking amoxicillin twice daily, but it still hurts after 24 hours. How long after taking antibiotics does pain go away?
