Still A Shortage?

I was wondering now that it's a new year, is everything back to normal here in tampa? I go to the doc tuesday and hope I'll be able to fill my meds. These last couple months have been a rough ride and the only thing that kept me going was the thought that this would be over with the new year . any info is much appreciated...

Hello all, I posted info before about the American Pain Foundation (will include again), BUT, PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT, and visit this link to sign a PETITION to support our rights to fill LEGAL PRESCRIPTIONS in the state of FL, and PLEASE FORWARD this petition to as many people that you think would support this issue that is now a crisis.

Link for Petition:
change.org/petitions/florida-pharmacies-stop-florida-pharmacies-from-denying-pain-patients-vital-medicines

The second link is for a SURVEY to convey the issues you may have had with pharmacies in FL. This is very important to make sure our voices are heard.

Thx everyone for the info. Well I went to my pharmacy today and thankfully everything was back to normal, so i assume the shortage is over as of now. Thanks again for all the help and info.

E11, I'm sorry, but I don't take pain medications, nor do I live in Florida. My role here on this site is to help people get answers to their questions and find information.

If you have a pharmacy that has it in stock and refused to fill it, then I would suggest raising a ruckus, because it could be perceived as discrimination.

The only valid reason they may have for not filling it, if they have it in stock, would be if you have been flagged for some reason, such as abusing them, or suspected of selling them.

Are there any other comments or questions?

Patients all over florida are being lied to, that they are out, list of excuses, but last two months, after they told mt they were out, as I was waiting around, saw them fill for others, I of course spoke with them and they finally did fill, but not entire script. They are lying their butts off, not sure where the pressure is coming from, probably DEA. See my post below as E11, about joining in to fight for our rights.

There is no shortage currently listed on the FDA website, so I would assume that means that the supply has, or is returning to normal.

If you still have trouble getting your prescription filled in Florida, then I have no idea what is going on, but I certainly hope the situation is remedied soon.

I would love to help you...that is if you still need help. My brain is a sponge that is filled with all the info I have had to remember from every pharmacy I stopped at or called for the past 6 years or so, so I do know where you are coming from, and have recently stumbled upon a massive piece of information that a pharmacist was not really allowed to tell me, but he/she did so anyways because he/she felt bad for me and knew the situation that I was in. And he knew that what is going on is Very Very wrong!!

Please, all of you having problems with your Pain Management and/or problems filling your medications. It is time to start getting together so our voices can be heard. One foundation I know of, The American Pain Foundation, is a good place to start. (painfoundation.org). Find your leader for the American Pain Foundation by going to the the website, click get involved. A drop down list appear, click leaders. This will take you to a map of the country and click on your state. Your leaders email address will be shown.

For Floridians, the Leader in Lithia/Tampa area is handling this situation. Email her and she will fill you in on what's being done about our problem. There is also an APF Florida Facebook page, for support and and working together to be heard. Also run by the FL APF Leader. Search for American Pain Foundation Action Network FLORIDA- Go to the group page. You will have to be added as a member. This is a closed group for privacy. Make sure you choose the GROUP page), Hope to see you there. I have post this way because we can not give contact info on here.
