Spironolactone Yellow Pill With An 514 On Scored Side

I am taking spironolactone 50mg and the tablets have been white with MP 542 on the scored side. I refilled my prescription and now they are yellow with AN 514 on the scored side. Are they the same?

Hi Patti,

Both of the pills in question are one in the same drug. The only difference I noticed is that they are manufactured by different companies. Additionally, there may be a slight variation of inactive ingredients; but other than that you can be assured that they are the same drug and same dosage.

For years, I have taken spironolactone v5882 l00mg. Recently since I have been required to order my meds, I am being sent spironolactone an515 l00mg. I suspect that the latter is not as effective as the former in relieving edema of the ankles. Could this be possible?
