Speed White Cross

What was the main active ingredient in the pills that were known as speed or white cross during the 70's and 80's? They were small white tablets with a cross or X scored on one side.

Speed typically contained Amphetamines, a stimulant.

There are still people today that use and they have found their niche in the prescription drug market to treat conditions such as ADHD, Narcolepsy and Shift Work Disorder.

The most commonly used one is Adderall.

Main ingredient I think is ephedrine and it is controlled in the United States.

in the 70's probably a racmic close to adderall. probably dl-ampmine.

otherwise ephedra.

So they still sell ephedrine pure at pharmacies. It is just behind the counter and you have to ask for it and you're only allowed to get it five times a month with your driver's license. You also have to be twenty one which is obvious.

I know Adderall used to be a weight loss drug in the 70’s to early 80’s and it was called Obatrol. The DEA’s clamp down on amphetamines for weight loss discouraged doctors from prescribing them for that anymore and the pharma company that owned Obatrol sold it to the Adderall company for ADHD. So a lot of these drugs were just diverted from weight loss drugs to ADHD drugs, or narcolepsy drugs, and some for other brain disorders, injuries such as organic brain syndrome from severe head injuries. So this maybe what happened to the drug you are talking about, if it was a true prescription drug in the first place. Some of the strong amphetamine drugs have also been taken off the market.

unfortunately the amount of active ingredient has surely been changed. adderall is not really the same mix.

just stick with adderall, every person who has taken adderal love it. people used to complain like no other when "the stuff lasts too long"!

We had Methadrine.About $20 a gram and 1 hit would take you up for3 days and then you would " crash."The WhiteCrosses were 5 for $1 (a rack) and we're extremely pure and strong.(You could aware that you could feel your hair growing)Real amphetamine is in a class by itself.Ive lived on most for many years.There is no comparison for those days and what was available.Now it's flat out bad for you from the start AND dangerous.
