I'm prescribed Sompraz-d-40mg. Please tell me what the side effects are when taken long-term?

It has to be taken 1/2 hr before Meals . Take with lots of water .

As per my gastro-enterologyst , there's no side effects and people take this medicine for years, without any health problems. However, my family doctor says, there are minor issues with prolonged usage(years and years) of this kind of PPI (proton pump inhibitors), as it may lower your body levels calcium (may weaken your bones), magnesium, iron (dizziness is major symptom) or vitamin B12. So keep an eye on those levels and you're good.

My mom is 50+ yrs old ... she has 50% block accordingvto angiogram. She recently got urin infection .. she is on medication. Now her legs and body are swelling and she is in pain.. she is adived by doc to take medicins fesovit,Sompraz,febuxostat,korandil tablets ... intitially she was asked to take amlodipine tablet but now she stopped taking .... we r very much worried .please help us

My wife age 38 is taking sompraz d40 since two years and wants to stop it but she got acidity without having the medicine.

From what I understand, sompraz d 40 may be taken both before and after food. Is this true? I am presently feeling heaviness in my stomach and gas is not passing. Can sompraz do the job if I have eaten food 15 minutes prior to dosing? Please advise.
