Sompraz D contains 30mgs of Domperidone and 40mgs of Esomaprazole, it is used to help prevent nausea and vomiting and treat conditions such as heartburn, GERD and ulcers.

Side effects may include: drowsiness, dizziness, diarrhea and flatulence. You would have to talk to your doctor about possible long term effects associated with this medication; based on your health, medical history, etc.

I had burning sensation in stomach and it was confirmed in endoscopy that there are some small wounds inside the food pipe. I was prescribed Sompraj 40 tablets. I have used for 2 months and the burning sensation has significantly reduced but when I discontinue this tablet for 3 to 4 days I I was experiencing the burning sensation. How safe is this to continue for long term. Please suggest.

I'm taking Sompraz D 40 half-an-hour before breakfast and dinner. I have throat burning senstation for almost 6+ months. During initial days the throat burn was on & off during the day for about 2 hours, during the throat burn I used to be hungry. So I eat a lot to see if the burn vanishes and it did few times. When the burn retained for 8 hours I did not able to tolerate and met doctor and he did endoscopy and said throat is infected. Please advise if this isn't a serious problem.

Sounds like this is a sulpha compounded antibiotic for infection. Used a lot for staph infections. These areas needed to be cleaned frequently with a good antibacterial wash and dried thoroughly. Do not cover unless draining. May apply a minimal amount of antibacterial oint. Needs to be kept clean and dry. Once you have this type of infection in your body you will always be susceptible, so any type of bite or cut must be cared for. Use antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer. Good luck, these infections can get nasty and painful.
