Is Soma a narcotic muscle relaxer?

My doctor has told me that that soma is a narcotic and she does not want to prescribe it to me any more. I suffer from chronic back pain as well as muscle spasms. I have tried other muscle relaxers as well as anti inflamatories and none of then do not work. Soma is the only one I have found to work for me without making me sleepy. Any information you can give me i would really appreciate. Thank you, Dana ## No, it is not a narcotic, nor is it related to opioid pain relievers. Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol. It has, however, been known to be habit forming and to be abused, by some people. ## Soma - Do they come up on a U/A? Since you say it's not a narcotic what do they come up as? ## I have ankylosing spondylitis. Other than the Enbrel and other such meds, what is ...

white round pill no imprints or markings

resembles a mentos in size and shape, completely white with no evidence of a coating, no imprints or markings ## it's probably a diet pill ## It is most likely that this was some type of over the counter product. From the size and shape, my best guess is that it was a supplement of some type, though I can't be certain. If there are no markings, we can rule such pills out as being U.S. manufactured prescription medications, because they are all required to have imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. However, there is a small chance it could be a foreign medication, but that isn't very likely. I've seen some Calcium supplements that resemble this, though. Does anyone else recognize it? ## could be a muscle relaxer soma from mexico looks just like a ...

Shortage of Soma (Carisoprodol) DAN 5513

I am writing this thread forum to discuss the shortage on soma and carisoprodol. Recently even the best pharmacies in my area are completely out of soma. Had to wait a week just to get my second best preferred soma 350mg generic. I had to settle for Jubliant Cadista Pharma generics which are the imprinted OP 35 white tablets. I have been on the Watson formulation for over 5 years which are imprinted DAN 5513. Luckily when Activas Elizabeth / Mayne Pharma acquired Watson Pharma then of which now Teva Pharma has acquired Activas medications. Activas was smart as they kept the Watson formulation of soma and dispensed the watson generic formulation. Last month I was able to find the watson DAN 5513 tablets and was informed they would have them in stock in future no problem. This was not the...

SOMA 350MG WITH IMPRINTS OF SG 109

Just received my refill of soma 350mg but they look different than the ones I am used to getting from the same pharmacy. No read out was put in the bag. The white round pill had a SG 109 on one side & blank on the other side. Anybody ever heard of these before? Because, since there was no print out of the new different medication I was a little worried, "what if the pharmacist made a little error in mine & somebody else's medications". Thanks for any feedback. ## Errors are made every day but these pills have been identified as Soma ## That is correct, they are manufactured by ScieGen Pharmaceuticals and they list them as containing 350mgs of Carisoprodol, which is a generic for Soma. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hea...

Pain-o-Soma

So yesterday I FINALLY RECEIVED my prescription of Pain-O-Soma in the blister packs that are from (Supposedly) HAB Pharmaceuticals & they ARE / WERE AWFUL!!!! I took 3 & #1) they DID NOT FEEL LIKE ANY BRAND OF SOMA THAT'S MADE HERE IN THE GOOD OLD UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA & #2) I think that they may have even given me MORE // WORSE MUSCLE SPASMS!!!! I can't believe that I f***in wasted close to $200.00 on these things & then had to wait for over 3 weeks to receive them... They came from India... So now I've got over 120 of these damn things, they're in the blister packs & they're a plain white pill with no numbers or anything on them except for a strait line on one side of the pill... I read about these in these forums & because there were mor...

Soma/Information

Has anyone else (Besides myself of course) EVER RECIEVED A MEDICINE MANUFACTURER // MANUFACTURED BY A COMPANY OR LABORATORY (Maybe called Centurian Laboratory's) from the country India (????) And if you have gotten some what do you think about the product that you received?? The 1st shipment I got was in a blister-pack called the following: Pain-o-Soma Manufactured in India by H A B Pharmaceuticals & Research Ltd. with the name "Carisoprodol Tablets 350 mgs" Clearly written on the "Blister-Pack's Qty#10 Per blister-pack" Ithe company that I ordered them from has a 100% money-back satisfied guarantee & I had paid up-from for 7-10 day buisness day delivery date guarantee & after I didn't receive my ORIGINAL ORDER THEY DECIDED TO RE-Ship it out to me...

I have been taking soma for years and have tried everything for sciatic nerve it puts me in the bed for weeks but when I was given this it am thankful its great thank you Waston drug company ## Watson, and they thank you for being a loyal Carisoprodol user. I like Soma, it is very likeable although harder and harder to get these days. ## Please tell me the name of your pharmacy. I have been looking for Watson Soma and I would appreciate some info on how to get them filled. I can get Pain-o-Soma but it is less potent. Much appreciated ## There was no mention of an Internet Pharmacy? It is illegal to order drugs through the mail, and these items are watched by Postal Inspectors, the DEA & ICE when they clear customs. Its like giving the Feds your name, address, and Credit Card ## Do n...

Pain-o-soma blister pack no imprint on pill?

Round white pill no imprint? HAB pharmaceutical licence #48/ua 2006 ## Looks like a cheap generic of Soma (Carisoprodol), possibly produced semi-legally in response to rising demand on account of an increasing number from international orders to Indian online pharmacies. Doesn't seem to be effective much. ## Pain-O-Soma is a very minimal substitute for Watson brand Soma at best. Even though it is plainly marked Carisprodol 350mg tablets they are placeboes in comparison. My advice is find a nice family dr that will prescribe or buy it from a online US pharmacy- if the will ship it to your state. There have recently been several states added as no ship states for Soma only in many cases ## And if there are no markings on the tablets, there is no way to establish whether or not the med...

Withdrawals from soma, morphine, xanax, oxycodone - help please

I have been in pain management for years, lost my doctor along with other patients, and primary won't fill or says she can't and messes up my progress to get in new pain management in time. Now I'm losing Soma, was 3 times a day, now I have 7 tabs left. Was on 45 mg of morphine 3 times, oxycodone 15s and xanax 5 mg 3 times a day. Which she said she can not write for. Why, if she knew or thought this pain clinic was prescribing more than standard, did she never say a word until i had to go to her in desperation for this? Your primary that has to refer you and get info to get into a new pain clinic, I have very serious health issues no one is dealing with, I feel alone and suicidal. I even told my doctor and the old pain clinic staff that left, and not a bit of help, yet they ...

Why was I taken off of Soma for my pain?

I've decided at my next Dr. appt to ask for my Soma back. I have a certain bone disease, and the only thing that helped the awful pain from it was Soma. I'm tired of being in pain & if the Soma is the only thing that helps, then why deny me the Soma that are completely legal? Enough is enough!!! If he denies to re-prescribe it, then put me back on Oxycontin 80mg a day. Does anyone know why so many people I know can't get their Soma either?? ## The US government is making it very difficult for Drs to prescribe all pain medication. Drs also don't want to be part of any kind of DEA investigation if the DEA wants to delve deeper. The DEA has all access to pharmacy records and can randomly investigate. ## It's not the DEA that's behind my losing my Soma. My Dr. st...

White pill brown specks no markings

White round pill about the same size of a Soma with small brown specks. No imprints or score lines. Found in a little baggy. See picture: ## With no markings, it is impossible to postiviely identify these, unless you would have them lab tested. We can be sure, though, that they aren't a US prescription medication, as they all MUST have unique imprints to enable identification. There are several items on the market that could match this, such as Senosside laxatives or even some Extasy tablets. I am sorry, I wish I could be of more help. Does anyone else have any ideas? ## small white round pill, no markings completely flat on both sides approx 1/8in diameter 1/16in thick ## Almost definitely a recreational pill - although whether it contains ecstacy is actually questionable since th...

Soma (carisoprodol) in Oklahoma

My GP recently stopped prescribing me Soma after many years of successful treatment with no other changes in medications. I go to a pain specialist for long term injury and they do not prescribe soma. I've heard that the best bet for getting back to my previous treatment plan may be to find a new GP who would prescribe soma. Does anyone have any idea of how to find this out about the specific doctors or know of any in the Tulsa, OK area who do? Please let me know, I cannot take all of the other muscle relaxants I've been prescribed to try. ## Soma is and does many things but rest assured it does not provide "successful treatment" of any part of the body. That is why it is being slowly phased out ## I'm looking for a doctor who prescribes soma in Tulsa, OK. I have bee...

Round white Pill With Cl 022

I found a round white pill with the imprint CL 022 on the same side. Anybody have any idea what this is? ## Hi Joe, The imprint "TCL 022" is the closest match I could locate to "CL 022". This pill is an off-white/beige color and is round. It is identified as a 60mg Thyroid tablet, which is used in the treatment of underactive thyroid; hashimoto's disease; hypothyroidism, after thyroid removal; thyroid cancer. NOTE: the imprint itself is all on the same side as you mentioned Is there any chance that this could be your pill? ## No it cleary says cl 022 its round and white. Its almost like an immitation soma pill when you compare the size ## the CL 022 IS A 325 ASPIRIN / 200 SOMA (CARISOPRODOL) ... CL 023 is not ## You are correct. It's a generic Soma, a muscle rela...

Muscle Relaxers comparable to Soma?

My insurance company stopped filling my prescription of Soma because it is not in their health care plan formula. What are the top five that work as well as Soma (Carisoprodol)? ## Then Stan you reach in your pocket and pull out the $4 it costs for Soma. I pay $2. The insurance company doesn't dictate what medicines you can take, only which ones they might not pay for? ## Unfortunately, there is really no top options list that anyone can give you, there are no others that are as strong as Soma, at this time, and which other one might help can vary from person to person. If you can't afford to pay for it out of pocket, as Eddy suggested, you might want to consult your doctor about which one they think would be best for you to try. Personally, I had great results with Skelaxin, wh...

If I took somas the night before and had a urine test the next day and it was sent to the lab would it show up? If not, what for? And could any other meds show up as soma? expired soma

5513 ## I am not certain what you are asking, could you please clarify? ## Can I take the medication Soma if it expired in 2007? ## I’m wondering the same thing. I found a script that expired in 2007 also. ## Yes you can, they may show signs of aging but should still be good. I did however have some Rantidine/Zantac go bad after storing an emergency night bag in my car in 150 degree Southern California summer weather ## Yes you can. It just loses its potency. ## I have 5-year-old Soma that is just as potent. What they do do is turn hard making them difficult to break in half. And some of mine are also exposed to extreme temperatures

soma muscle relaxer

Whst can I ask my doc for thst is the closest to soma. ## Flexeril and , those type of medicinces which don't get you high, but take care of muscle problems ## Robaxin and Skelaxin are also other options, after Soma, Skelaxin is most likely the strongest choice. Learn more Skelaxin details here. Has your doctor refused to prescribe Soma? Although people are frequently confused about it, it's a muscle relaxant and not a narcotic opiate. ## Also, you can try Tizanidine HCL or Zanaflex, the trademark name. It's helped me with neck pain from arthritis. Good luck. ## I have had all of the muscle relaxers only soma works for me and they help me sleep. I'm 64 and have used them since I was 17 due to a car accident.

Soma Versus Baclofen

I was recently switched from soma to baclofen. The Baclofen makes me feel very strange and I cannot function as well on it as I can with Soma. It makes me sleepy, and frankly just makes me feel like crap. The Soma works better for me as far as muscle spasms. The Baclofen does help spinal pain but does not work as quickly as Soma on spasms. My doctors in Alabama refuse to prescribe me Soma even though I have been put on different muscke rekaxers, Soma works best with my body. Why will doctors nor prescribe what works best for the individual. Every thing works different on different people. I want to be able to function and not be a zombie. What should I do. My pain clinic doctor only wants to get meds from him, but if he wont prescribe what works, I will get my pain meds from him and som...
