Sleep Paralysis/hallucinations By 3rd Day At 20mg

I have done a lot of research on this drug all over the internet for the last week because it's been the absolute worst week of my life. I started taking Viibryd 3 weeks ago for generalized anxiety disorder. I have previously been on effexor for 2 years, took 2 years off any medication, and then recently needed to start medication again. The first week, i had the typical side effects. Nausea, high energy, and insomnia. I knew that my body had to get used to it. By the 3rd night on the 20mg dosage, I was having 5-10 episodes of sleep paralysis with exploding head syndrome & hallucinations a NIGHT. I weened off for a few days, and now i'm completely off for 4 days and STILL having the episodes. I am scared to death to go to sleep at night because it is that terrifying. So, I am writing to basically say that this drug is evil and needs to be taken off the market, and I would not advise ANYONE to take this drug. I have contacted Forest Pharmaceuticals and the FDA, and wanted to encourage all of you other people who are suffering the same side effects to please do so as well. The more complaints they get, they will have to take action. I just hope that my brain can reverse whatever damage has already been done. I will deal with my anxiety without drugs from now on. The power of these medicines have a whole new light in my eyes now.

There have been others that have posted about having problems with Viibryd, but I have to admit that yours is the worst I've read, so far.

I am very sorry that you have been suffering so and I understand, that would definitely be terrifying to experience.

These drugs do work on brain chemicals, so it may take a few days for it to completely work out of your body and for things to return to normal, but it should eventually happen and it isn't very likely that any permanent damage has been done.

However, if you don't experience any improvement soon, then I strongly urge you to contact your doctor so they can do some testing.

I too had an awful experience with viibryd, the horrific nightmares, sleep paralysis, but even worse than that I became almost crippled from joint pain my neck, elbows, knees and almost loss the use of my hands. I looked everywhere for side effects that included joint pain and never found anything that backed that up.My sister got on the computer and told me that joint pain had been a discussion in a forum and people complaining about having joint pain to the crippling stage. I immediately starting weening myself off and back on to my prior meds for depression and after the first day of lowering the dose I started to feel better, Now a week of totally being off of viibryd my hands are slowly but surely getting back to normal still sore and stiff but I can do my everyday normal things with my hands. I am trying to report this to the FDA but they certainly don't make it easy !!! I too think this med is evil!!!
