Has anyone read about or experienced Complex Regional Pain Syndrome while taking Skelaxin? Also, is it ok to take over a long period of time? ## It can be taken as long as your doctor feels it is safe, and beneficial for you to do so. I took it for chronic pain for several years, and had no problems with it, though I will see I found its benefits to be minimal. The FDA lists the typical side effects for Skelaxin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Ref: Skelaxin Information Are you on any other medications?

I had taken a muscle relaxer many years ago for my back. I remember the pill was either pink or red and oblong. I dont remember the name of it. I am currently suffering from sciatica and my doctor doesnt want to prescribe me a muscle relaxer because they make you drowsy. I remember this muscle relaxer did not make me drowsy so I want to tell him about it and maybe have him perscribe it for me. Only problem is I need to know what its called. If anyone can help please. ## I took one similar to what you've described, it was Skelaxin, which is used as a muscle relaxant, it contains the active ingredient Metaxalone. NDC code: 10544-524-20 Does that look familiar? It is now available as a generic, so they don't all look the same. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly incl...

I have been taking hydrocodone for ddd and bulging disc.went to a new dr who prescribed skelaxin instead of hydrcodone. will this help? ## It may help some, but it is not a narcotic, so I am doubtful you will get the same pain relief you did from the Hydrocodone. Skelaxin contains the active ingredient Metaxalone, which is a muscle relaxant, so it will only help with pain that is caused by muscle cramping and spasms. Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and headache. I cannot swallow large pills. Can Skelaxin be deluted in a juice oe soda, and if so, in what. ## Skelaxin isn't time released, so you could just cut or break the pill and swallow the separate pieces, there's no need to dilute or dissolve it in anything. Learn more Skelaxin details here. This is safe to do with any tablet that isn't time released, unless the labeling, your doctor, or pharmacist have specifically instructed you not do so. Large, sort of oval-shaped pink pill, split in half. Only number (probably the first number) on one side is 8. On the other side of the half-pill is a 6, probably the last number. ## I can't be completely certain, since the complete imprint isn't posted, but your description reminds of the 800mg Skelaxin tablets that I took for years. It's a muscle relaxant. Learn more Skelaxin details here. Like I said, I can't be sure, but those numbers are part of the imprint on it. Does anyone else have any ideas? ## Thank you! ## The pill is very light pink oval. Half has a 1 and the other half has an eight. The other side has one letter in the middle which appears to be an A

What are side effects of Skelaxin and can it be taken if you have gastritis and also taking blood pressure meds? ## What has your doctor advised? There are no warnings about using it, if you have stomach problems, but it may cause some nausea and irritation, other side effects can include dizziness and drowsiness. As to the blood pressure medications, I can't check that information for you, without knowing the specific ones. Can you please post back with what you are on, so I can check for you?
