Well, Kari, I know some people swear by over the counter medications, such as anti-inflammatories, like Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) or Acetaminophen (Tylenol), as well as some herbal remedies.

The main concern here, of course, is that you have to be careful how much you take, due to the possibility of overdosage, which can result in severe organ damage or even death.

So, if you are going to try them, please be careful to stay within the recommended dosages and also, make sure they don't interact with any other medications you may be taking.
