Side Effects Of Dexamethasone

I am taking this for ITP to try to raise up my platelets. an average persons platelets are about 1500 mine are about 50. I started taking 5 4mg pills a day for two weeks. got to the 3rdday of the second week and my body felt like I was going to explode, I gained 10 pounds. Severe gas pains, Severe pain in all of my joints, Can't think straight, Bad bruising all over my body. Stay up for days at a time. Slur when I talk, Bad sweats
I called my doctor and he immediately took me down to two pills a day. I'm at day two of taking two pills and still feeling very sick. Just this morning I couldn't even walk without my ankles wanting to give out. It is to my strict understanding that you can't just stop this drug, However after this experience I would rather die.

i HAVE BEEN UNWITTINGLY TAKING DEXAMETASONE FOR 4 YEARS.i WAS TOLD IT WAS A TOTALLY HERBAL jAMU.BUT BEFORE TAKING IT WAS TO MAKE ME HEALTHY,I HAD NEVER HAD ANY JOINT PAINS ECT,STOPPED IT FOR 6 DAYS (THE jAMU) AND AFTER 3 DAYS WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN COULD HARDLY WALK,EVEN THE SHEETS ON THE BED MADE ALL MY JOINTS ACHE.wHEN GOT THE jAMU AGAIN SFTER ONLY ONE GLASS FELT ON TOP OF THE WORLD,COULD RUN ECT ECT.bECAME SUSPICIUOS AND FOUND OUT THAT THE SO CALLED herbal DRINK CONTAINED CRUSHED DEXAMETHASONE IN IT AND IS BEING SOLD TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE AND IDIOTS LIKE ME AS A HEALTH TONIC.nOW i HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM AND NEED TO FIND A SAFE WAY BACK TO MY PREVOIUS GOOD HEALTH IF THATS POSSIBLE.aNY SUGGESTIONS ???
