Epilex Chrono contains the active ingredients Sodium Valproate and Valproic Acid, which is used to help control seizures and as a mood stabilizer.

Levipil contains Levitiracetam, which is used in the same manner to treat the same conditions.

And both of these, since they are also used for people with mood disorders, could be causing the effect you are experiencing of irritability and anger. They can also cause a loss of appetite, in some people.

It could be that taking them both is just too much for your body or the dosages may be too high for you.

Have you spoken to your doctor about it, yet?

DINESH Says:

I had suffered with Left side seizure in April 2010. Since then I am still continuing on Levipill 500 mg (twice a day), Homocheck (in morning) and Methylcobal 500 mcg (in evening) on the advise of my doctor.
I have the following feeling:-
(a) Shakiness in my hand.
(b) Increased Irritation / Short tempered.
(c) Pain in my right jaw bone at the joint.
(d) Occasional Discharge of mucous whenever wind is passed through rectum.
(e) Stool which is not properly bound, Some what like dysentry.
I feel (a) to (c) may be as side effect of Levipill and (d) & (e) as side effect of Methylcobal.
Is my suspicion of these side effects correct.
If yes what is the solution.
I have not discussed the matter with my Neurologist yet.

Most of what you've listed are not normal side effects for what you are using. The only one that is list is the irritability/short-temper, which can be caused by the Levetiracetam in the Levipil.

However, what might be causing your problem is the fact that you are taking Methylcobalamin and the Homocheck.

Methylcobalamin is a form of Vitamin B12 and the Homocheck also contains B12, along with B6 and Folic Acid.

Too much vitamin B12 can be just as dangerous as not having enough and can cause some health problems. So, in this case, you may be taking too much of it.

Doubling up on it is not a good idea and I have no idea why your doctor would have you doing so. I suggest you discuss it with them.

Are there any other questions?

I am also taking epilex chrono 500 mg thrice daily and due to its side effects I get irritated and gets angry very fast. My diet also reduced. Keep on taking the medicine and start thing that you are not suffering from this disease. Your mind is your best doctor. Do not think/ bring negative feeling. Please refer invisibledoctor.com. Join Rajyoga from brahmakumri to your nearest centre. The person whom site I have refered was suffereing from cancer and doctor had put him on danger list that ihe will not survive and sent home. He started considering why I can not become ok. learnt Rajyoga and is totally ok. The problem is that when ever we go to doctor diagnose some disease take medice and think positive and write in copy that you are recovering fast and do not suffer from such disease.

My 1 and half year boy had seizures once and from one year he is under medication of Levipil. He is so irritating and short tempered. Even while using this medicine he has jerking/ convulsions, blinking of eyes , shaking of head for few seconds at times. I am worried why all these happen even under medication. All his EEG and MRI reports are normal and a doctor suggested to use Valance syrup saaying that it has no side effects. Please suggest which one is best for babies, Levipil or Valance syrup? Also suggest why convulsions are occured even during medication. Please help
