Side Effects Of Defcort 30

I have kidney problem with about 3.2 gm protein discharge daily. Doctor had suggested taking Prednisolone 120 mg A/D.With the first doze itself, I had serious chest pain. Later on another nephrologist suggested me taking Defcort 30 mg x 21/2 tablets daily.
I am afraid due to the first exprience with Prednisolone.
I am a heart patient having undergone angioplasty already. Please advise.I am also taking medicine for BP.and diabetese.

Did the doctors say the chest pain was caused by the Prednisolone? If so, then that would be a good sign that it is not safe for you to use.

If you are already a heart patient, it could also complicate things further, because it can cause fluid retention, which can result in congestive heart failure for people that are susceptible to it.

Do they doctors that are prescribing this know about your heart condition?

You should really discuss all of your concerns with them, so they can help you weigh the risks and possible benefits and decide if you should try the medication.

It is really not recommended that this medication be used by people with hypertension or diabetes, either.

Have just been weaned off prednisolone after being on ti for about three years. I have now developed numbness especially on tips of the fingers and face. It can be very uncomfortable. At times mo mouth feels like i've just been to the dentist because of this numbness. What could be the cause of this? I am a heart patient.

tigrl, have you spoken to your doctor about this?

If you are a heart patient, that numbness could be related to a circulation problem, which could be a serious issue that requires medical treatment.

Are you on any other medications? It can even be related to side effects from some blood pressure and cardiac drugs.
