I changed my BP drugs to Adco Bisocor - a small dose of 5mg a day for marginally raised BP. The previous drugs were causing hair loss and severe weight loss, as well as loss of appetite. At first the Adco Bisocor seemed fine - I've been on it about 4 years now. The hair loss and weight loss were almost totally reversed. However, I have now once again been losing weight, some hair, and have been extremely dehydrated to the extent that my mouth is almost too dry to speak. Can this be the drug?

Have you consulted your doctor?

The active ingredient in this is Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker and yes, it is always possible for a medication to suddenly start causing new side effects, because our bodies are always changing.

However, you should check with a doctor to determine whether it is from the medication, or maybe from some other medical condition.

Kobus, you also need to speak to your doctor.

Blood pressure/cardiac medications, such as Bisoprolol, are well known to cause erectile dysfunction, so you may need to try different medications, until you find one that controls your medical issues, without causing severe erectile problems.

However, only your doctor can help you explore your options and find the right medication for you.

Are there any other questions or comments?

My boyfriend does not have any sex drive since he started taking this medication. Does this diminish sexual desire completely or is this perhaps something else?
