Severe Muscle Pain And Xarelto

Took xarelto for 3 months after broken ankle and subsequent blood clot in calf. Developed severe, strange muscle pain in left shoulder blade, arm, elbow, neck, etc. Even went to ER because pain and tightness in left chest. Im 43 and pretty healthy otherwise. Been off it for 5 weeks with very little relief. Anyone else? How long does it stay in your sysem?

Hello, ER! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having.

If it was a side effect of the Xarleto, it shouldn't still be an issue after you've been off of it for over a month. This has happened to people taking it, that is listed in the FDA medication information, but it usually stops, after someone is off of it for a few weeks.

Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted your doctor?

I had a car accident back n march of 2015 and as a result i found out i had a dvt jn my pelvic area and i was put on xarelto for 6 months. Throughout those 6 months i had cramps but not as bad. I have been off of it for 2-3 months and my legs have had major cramps muscle aches and pains shooting up my leg the dvt was mainly in my right leg but the pains are n both legs some days its just one leg sometimes its the other leg sometimes its both and one time i got up and my right leg gave out. I was taking muscle relaxers for it and using an ice pack when needed but i had blood work done yesterday december 8 and it came back that my d dimer results came back a 1.16 and its posed to be a 0.49 so they put me back on the xarelto. Just dont understand bcuz i went to my vein specialist and had it checked before i went yesterday to get my blood work done and he brushed it off like it wasn't anything. Im thinking about transfering to somewhere else. Just wish i didn't have these issues.

I am on my 2nd week of taking Xarelto. My wrist hurts and I just want to soak it in Epsom salt. Is that okay to do?

Hi, my haemotologist told me about three weeks ago that the Di dimer isn’t done anymore, it doesn’t tell them anything.

When I mentioned this to my GP he agreed ,so what is the point of having it done. My first Di dimer after the clots were cleared was 5.3 the second one was 5. The haematologist said I didn’t need to see her again I could go to my GP. So what is the right thing to do? I have developed a muscle pain in my back and can’t lie on my side because of it, it’s painful to move, I am also on Nexium. I see my GP in two weeks. I’m on Cartia low dose once a day now, and Avapro BP tablet. Cheers.
