Severe Back Pain

Updated

I was on 30mg of mitprtazipine for 18 months, I came off them at the end if January as I could not stand the terrifying nightmares I was having, since then I have suffered with a fatty liver and chronic lower back, pain between my shoulder blades and muscle pain, have tried all methods of relief, chiropractor , osteopath, massage and all kinds of pain relief, nothing so far is having any effect , would like to know if anyone else has suffered anything similar.

Hi Liz,

First and foremost, be aware that all thoughts and opinions expressed are based on my research and should not be mistaken for medical advice. I am not a doctor nor a pharmacist. all medical questions should be answered by a licensed pharmacist or doctor.

I am truly sorry to hear about all that you have been through. I have always dealt with some pretty bad lower back pain (not chronic though) and find that gradually getting myself more active each and every day does strengthen my core which in turn helps to support the back (I'm talking- walks and light exercise like stretching and yoga). I know the process would possibly be more painful for you and you may need the assistance of a physical therapist) at first but exercise has been proven to reduce inflammation- and inflammation is one of the main causes of chronic pain.

I've also read that sugar is linked to issues with inflammation and joint pain so it never hurts to cut a large portion of it out of the diet (I mean refined sugars-not unrefined like from fruit). I'm sure that would also help out the liver as well. I do not know your diet however, so I'm not making assumptions that sugar is a large part of your diet and that you should cut it out. I hope you understand my intentions (which are all good!).

I haven't had much of a history with pain medications, but have used essential oils and acupuncture with great results. The acupuncture actually helped to heal a nerve in my foot and so I'm sure it could be beneficial for back pain. Have you tried it yet? I know you mentioned that you've tried multiple methods of pain relief. When it comes to essential oils, there is something known as rain drop therapy which is supposed to be very beneficial for intensive healing inside and out. I could do some research and provide your with more information on that subject if you're at all interested?

I hope my response has been helpful in some way!
