Search For Fiorinal

Updated

I have taken Fiorinal tablets for several years as it is the only medication that works for my headaches. I take 1/2 pill at a time, so taking a capsule will not work. I've been informed that Fiorinal tablets are not being made any longer and you can only get Fioricet capsules. Won't work for me. I've also been informed that the explanation for the discontinuance of Fiorinal is a manufacturing plant investigation. Can anyone explain that more? Is the plant investigation for this drug or for something else? If something else, that doesn't explain why Fiorinal is discontinued. I have tried other medications which don't work and I truly would like to find a way to get Fiorinal again.

Hello, Peanut! How are you?

That is correct, at this time, the tablets are no longer available, just the capsules and it is not known whether or not the tablets will be back on the market.

However, there are no confirmed details as to why the tablets are no longer available.

Have you tried the capsules to see if they work for you?

Hi,
I am in the UK and Fioricet/Fiorinal (with or without codeine, sometimes the codeine, even though only 30mg, a low dose, can work well with the other ingredients). It was available by mail from Spain until recently and now it looks like I have to seek it in the USA. It is the only really effective med I have used for my migraines and cluster headaches.

Re: Minoguesque (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

I live in Canada & Fiorcet is illegal here. We could get the generic of Fiorinal C1/2 which is Techno Ratio C 1/2 because the generic is twice as cheap as the brand name. We now have a drug shortage of the generic brand so I went down to Fiorinal C 1/4 which only has half the codeine but I was given codeine pills to make up the difference. The Fiorinal C 1/4 is now shorted so I went to the Fiorinal tablets which has no codeine & they gave me codeine tablets to make up the difference. Now my Pharmacist has told me that the tablets won’t be available after next week they are also being shorted. I have taken Fiorinal C !/2 since I was 18 & I am 54 now. I took them only when I had a severe migraine. I have since been battling 2 different types of lung cancer & the chemo drug I took & the brain radiation has left me with next to no hearing in my left ear & constant ringing of my ears which left me having to take the Fiorinal daily as a preventative measure to try& stop the migraines. About 15 years ago the generic form of Fiorinal C 1/2 was shorted for almost 3 years so we had to pay double the price. My Fiorinal C 1/2 is not covered by our Healthcare system or private insurance so I pay $130. every week just for the Fiorinal. Insulin, high blood pressure medications & many other medications are not available in Canada because the drugs have been shorted so I feel for you & hopefully they come back in February of 2020, my Pharmacist says that is when they will be available again but I am not holding my breath that the generic will come back.

Re: Minoguesque (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

I am not sure but I don’t think you can order it from the U.S because it is an opiate & can’t be shipped legally through U.S. customs so look into it before you order anything.

We have no Fiorinal C 1/2 or any sort of Fiorinal because of the drug shortage. What drug or drugs will work the same as Fiorinal?
