Savella Side Effects

I'm on week 2 of Savella, not up to full dose yet, (50 mg 2x pd) I have diarreah every day, and am nauseous, and just want to eat constantly! I started the higher dose yesterday, and puked for 20 minutes after having flu like symptoms. I thought I was getting the flu, but felt a little better after throwing up, but was still nauseous all day. I have to take diarreah meds about every other day to keep it under control. I think my pain is a little better, but I can't afford any more weight gain. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't the med for me.

Wow! Very sorry to read of what you are going through.

Yes, Savella can cause the nausea and vomiting as side effects. It is not, however, known to cause diarrhea or increased appetite, but medications can affect everyone differently.

Have you talked to your doctor about these issues, yet?

keep going with the drug for 2 more weeks. I had severe diarrhea for 3 weeks but after that it went away. For me everything is regular now and I believe it is helping the pain.

Mary, you are one of the FEW people i have seen with diarrhea side effect. I have read hundreds of comments and was beginning to think I had food poisoning instead of the Savella side effect. I got the nausea and diarrhea after only 2 doses of 12.5 mg. I'm really scared to try it again.

I too after only two weeks, have diarrhea everyday, sometimes going up to 5 times per day. ugh!
