Sandoz Ativan
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I switched pharmacies and was given Sandoz Ativan, I have been having a terrible time- it is like it is creating more anxiety. I switched back to my old pharmacy and am counting the days until I get back to the Milan manufacturer. It has been a horrid 2 weeks. Melatonin helps a great deal with sleep. I started off with Milan and had been on that for 2 years with no problems, I wonder if your body resists another generic brand and you have to adjust. All I know if Milan is what I need and I always get the same manufacturers for all my meds since 12 years ago from CVS- they are very consistent. Be very careful if you switch pharmacies, I learned that all generics are NOT THE SAME.

Re: Verwon (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

good reply but the idea of going around trying one brand after another until you find the right one is maddning, i have experienced this 3 times in the last 15 years and its really a big issue, especially when the pharmacy distributer refuse to tell you what ph they carry and what pharmacies carry which brandarmacies carry which manufactor

For the person whose pharmacy switched. Go back to what worked. From personal experience giving the new manufacturer version a chance is just more of the same same symptoms continuing. Good luck

You are so right The pharmacies change in house and changing pharmacies is just more. I've tried four that had no affect and some gave me rapid heart beats and strong ones.Stay with your manufacture but they are being bought up by each other and are being diluted and changed. I'm still looking for the one that does the same job as before I've taken it quite a while and know what doesn't work. My dr thinks he knows butvwhen with my brand I have no issues.

No Watson isn't. They combined with Actavis and it's made overseas. Total s*** now.

Remember the saying "Don't take any wood nickels??" That's pretty much what you were tricked into doing. The pharmacy is not allowed to prescribe a second best. Or a replacement for your RX with what they feel like. If they are out you ask them to order your Xanax. Attention, van and Xanax are two different drugs. Although both are in the Benzo family, they are not at all the same...If they are out you can order it. Takes between 3 hrs to 24 hrs on average. Or simply take your script to another pharmacy. Seriously the quality of help these days at most Pharmacies is deplorable. I remember when being a pharmacist was an honorable career that took extensive knowledge, compassion and well good intentions. Not push a drug so your pharmaceutical kick backs go to the greedy *****s.

Hello Frenchhorn, I myself have just picked up my refill of adderall but this time the pills were very different!... The old ones were sweet and worked very well. These new ones do not have any sweet taste nor do they work at all!!!!.. It's like I'm taking nothing!..... Then..
(DING!).... Bell rang, I looked at the manufacturer name, and I know a lot about pharmaceutical companies ect. And there it was, (SANDOZ)..... Very few of the pills actually have the drug in the pills. Most of the pills have an awesome amount of binders and fillers in them. I couldn't believe that my pharmacy even did business with this well known crooked company!... But my legal case is on its way...lol... These adderalls do not work at all!... My last refill was by a company called Brava pa?? That's a new one on me. Anyways. That's my story so here I am...lol... Lets go get em... Legally I mean. Ok, take care.

Used Watson and was switched to Sandoz. Takes 3 to give same effect as Watson. I hate it. Walgreens was of no help. Cheapest available from overseas Watson is of course a US co. Anyway I refused the last script and no longer sleep

So I have noticed the same with lorezepam by actavis. So do you think by maybe taking an extra pill of my dose may work better? Especially if my rx us for 0.5mg and says take one to 2 pills. Watson brand used to be great taking two. I now have another brand and taking two does not help, I think by increasing to three would help?

Watson recently sold out to Actavis, so their product is in question.

Sandoz manufactures their own product, that is not affiliated with Actavis, as many people believe.

There was, indeed, a short time that this was true, but Sandoz now independently manufactures their own formula, and Actavis is in the process, or has, filed for their own rights to manufacture lorazepam, independent of Watson and Sandoz.

Watson, as most people know, pretty much went belly up, selling their assets to other pharmaceutical companies, which is sad, because in the 90s I always felt Watson was far superior than any other generic on the market bar none, especially for narcotic medications. Now, for that class, they are subpar. You may still find a narcotic that on the pill says Watson, but it isn't actually manufactured by them anymore.

Back on point:

I find Sandboz generic lorazepam to be more efficacious, stronger, and last longer, without side effects that I experienced with Qualitest generic lorazepam, which I found to be very weak.

But always remember this, if you have ever taken Xanax, the potency for lorazepam is one half.

Example… 10 mg of alprazolam would approximately equal 5 mg of lorazepam, plus or minus 25-40% variation based on multiple factors, including the time that you have taken multiple benzodiazepines (drug cross tolerance).

Back to Sandoz and my comments concerning lorazepam potency, simply Google: "benzodiazepine conversion calculator"

I was taking the qualitest generic brand of lorazepam and now I am taking the Sandoz lorazepam.

I find the Sandoz to be more efficacious and strong and prefer it much more over any other generic Lorazepam I have taken.

Of course, this simply represents my opinion.

Sandoz can't be trusted. There have absolutely no concern for humans. They are inhumane. There only interest are the big bucks. And the FDA is allowing this. It's really pathetic. The day will come when all these big shots making the big bucks may need to take them themselves and experience the hell that they have put many people and their loved ones through.

I do not like Sandoz generic. I find that I need more of the drug. I have been taking Watson generic, since my husband was killed in an accident. i really do not believe that the sandoz generic is as effective as Watson's generic.

I take it for sleeplessness, and found the Sandoz brand to work so much better for me than Mylan, previously

I have been on ativan for about 3 years now, before that I was on xanax for 10 years, But when I switched doctor's he told me he doesn't like xanax and will not give it to me I said fine whatever, Maybe change is good, so he then prescribed Ativan which has been ok for me made by actavis for 3years, then today I go pick up my script not made by the same manufacturer it from Sandoz OMG!! I have had a terrible day with this, withdrawal symptoms nausea, sweating like a pig, aches and pains, I called my pharmacy the tech was so understanding he said if I didn't feel better by tomorrow to call him and he would order the brand that I normally use?? Am I doing the right thing or should I give it sometime, I really don't don't think it's gonna help. Anybody have any advise?

Joe;
I totally understand what you're saying. My plan isn't to be off the drug entirely, although that could happen in time. It's to be on a much lower safer dose, then to take only when really needed. All I can do is try. Dementia is nothing to fool around with. I always knew this drug messed with your memory but now they are coming out with the scary truth. One mg. a day is probably a pretty safe dose. I realized this drug was making me anxious at times too. I have ptsd so I may always need some med help. We disagree on something else. I know this life isn't all there is, I am Christian. A lot of our healing will come from prayer. BTW, the shrink told me I could use 'penta gabin'..?? pretty sure I mis spelled that. He said it's not addictive but helps with anxiety. Don't think I would try it. I've had lots of people tell me they use Benadryl for the same thing. take care
