I am on probation and take saliva swabs to detect recent drug use. I passed every test for a year straight. Then i failed for cocaine. However i have not even seen cocaine in 5 years and have been clean from heroin, my drug of choice, for almost 3 years. Im currently on suboxen for opiate maintenance, prozac for depression and adderall for add. I just learned i have had hpv for a couple years and have had an outbreak of warts within past few months. I have been prescribed aldara, but after i already failed test. My question is will any of these medications cause this? Can complications of the hpv cause my body to produce some chemical or metabolite similar to cocaines? Any information would be greatly appreciated as my freedom is at stake! I passed all drug tests after, until a week ago cocaine was present once again! Im innocent and since im on probation there is nothing i can do but research why this is happening! Thank you very much for your time!

I tried explaining this to my p.o. However, she is standing firm that cocaine is the ONLY substance that would test positive for cocaine. It seems that they have no education on this subject, and since im on probation i have no rights to appeal their "scientific results." I was st to have early termination because have complied with any and everything. If anyone knows what i could do to prove these resultsincorrect, u would be saving me a lifetime of problems. I understand i have done dumb things in the past, thats why im on probation. But the fact i have straightend out my life for the better proves i wanted to change. I will no longer be able to have thia expunged if the judge finds me in violation. I even volunteerd myself to get a hair test to prove myself and they wouldnt allow the results to influence their finding. If anyone has any other ideas, suggestions, or previous experience with what im going through any and all comments would be appreciated!! Does anyone know if new jersey probation uses GC/MS confirmation test? If they did they would be able to differentiate between cocaine and adderall, and this is a problem that is playing with peoples lives and freedom, regardless if you are on probation or a priest its just wrong!! Please anyone I need your help!!

Have you been eating anything different around the time you had the tests?
There are some foods that can cause false positives for cocaine, if they contain Cocoa Leaf, Cocoa flour or Cocoa oil.
Antibiotics can also give false positives for it.
Some types of tonic water can also do it.
I am afraid, however, that there is really no way to prove this, if they refuse to do any other testing or accept your results from anywhere else.
Of the medications you list, none of those are known to cause a false positive.

Mike, there's a good chance that it's the Amoxicillin, it is very well known to cause a false positive for Cocaine on non-certified drug tests, in urine, saliva and blood.
The same thing can happen with almost all antibiotics in this class.
I'd suggest trying a test when you've been off it for awhile.

Not to sound like a jerk but you po is no doctor. There are plenty of antibiotics that will cause false positives for almost everything. I was reading how suave shampoo will show up as a false positive for opiates, unbelievable. Stick to your guns and find a site that will break down each of your medications into there mollecular forms you will have to have a periodic table but a little research and some printed forums discussions and actual research may help with the po to at least become substantitive in your guilt. You know their job is easier when we are behind bars and just a case file in there cabinet, they get paid and don't have to even see us until the lock up cuts us loose. Good Luck

Ask them to do a hair folicle test . The results will be for 3 months back. This test is a little more complex and I believe you would have more accurate readings

Cocaine is the only thing that will cause you to fail for cocaine. Watch ur drinks, u could have kissed or interacted with someone who passed remnants onto u. People put coke all over under and in themselves 100 different ways.
