Roxycotin 30 Mg (oxycodone) (Page 2)

I am on 30mg Roxycotin (oxycodone) 180 tablets per month. I have insurance, however, cannot find a pharmacy that has supplies of prescription (I hear many people are having this issue recently). My doctor might prescribe an alternative. I am very afraid of the alternative due to not understanding how medications translate. I fear it not being adequate for me to function and go to work. What is a viable alternative? Does anybody know. I am told dilaudid (I cannot spell the med.) But the doctor is saying 8mg. in the amount of 110 pills (as opposed to 30mg of oxycodone in the amount of 180 pills) that I am currently prescribed. It looks like a serious drop in the ammount and mg. of medication. I fear the worst. Anybody have any advice. It would be greatly appreciated.

Diladud is wayyyyyyy better for pain then the blue 30 mg your currently taking. They are stronger and 8mg of diladud is stronger then 30 mg of the blues your taking. You can actualy split the diladud into 2 and jut take 4mg of the pill and in my opinion that is equal to the 30mg blue your taking. So really if you get the 8mg of diladud you can split them in half an you have more meds then the 180 blues. But wow! If you think its hard to fill your current meds (the 30mg blues) its almost impossible to get any pharmacy to fill the 8mg diladud. Some will fill 4mg if diladud, but the 8mg diladud is extremly hard to get filled. And forget about insurance... You will need to pay vash money if you even find a pharmacy near you to fill the 8mg diladud. One of my family members gets the 8mg of diladud and he has to drive 3 hours away to a pharmacy to fill it and they dont care if you have the best insurance in the world, they wont take it, you must pay cash, and they run about $7-$10 a pill,so its pretty expensive. Thats just how it is here in Florida, so good luck, I would say the diladud works way better, but is hard to fill and more expensive, so you need to chose if its worth the headache to not be in pain. And maybe where you live its entirely diffrent,ask around and do your research, I would hate for your doc to write you a pain rx that you need and ten not be able to even fill it, bc then your going to go through the worst withdrawls of your life and be in 1000 times more pain then your in. This is just my expierience with this topic, Im not a doctor, just a person thats in pain and dealing with the same thing as you and these are my current expiriences. Dilauded is a good bit stronger than oxycodone.. I have been prescribed both.. And trust me when I tell u im the same way u r.. I was disappointed when I got swap to dilaudid(sry I cant spell that crap either)but it wasn't a let down.. Less pills , just as much relief..

I'm sorry about your situation but I used to be on 180 of 30 mg oxycodone and my doctor just gave me 180 of 4 mg dilaudid and they work well but the only difference is that oxycodone has a euphoric ( think I spelled that right) felling and dilaudid does not. He dropped your dosage because technically dilaudid is stronger than oxycodone. I don't know the exact composition because there is so much controversy trying to compare them but I have to believe one persons answer to what is stronger and his answer was one 4 mg dilaudid is stronger than one 10 mg Percocet

Whatever you do stay away from all of them if you can, but I know it's easier Said then Done! I was on 120 160MG Oxytocin & 120 MG of Roxycotin 30 MG IR {Instance Release} is what the IR stands for Break Through Pain! I've cut back myself in order to take less due to what they were doing to me. My whole Life my teeth were one of my Pride & Joy to show them off with Big Smiles! Well now I don't Smile EVER AT ALL! Why is because a side effect of these drugs & a Slang name that my Doctor calls it is "Dry Mouth"! What is does is drys out your teeth & gums & I don't mean just drink more water. I brushed my teeth 4 to 6 times a day with Special Tooth Paste for Sensitive Teeth. 5 years later I have 6 "SIX" teeth left in my mouth & by the end of this year I'll have none. If it does that to my teeth, then what's it doing to the rest of my body??? Dilaudid are even worse & harder to get off of, plus You Cannot Function if you plan on working! If a Doctor has prescribed this size & amount of Opioids which Oxys & Roxy are on you have to be 100% Disabled unless you're going to a "Pill Mill"? A Pill Mill is a Doctor "SO CALLED" that can write Prescriptions until they get Busted & or Pharmacies stop fill prescriptions from those Doctors feel are from "Pill Mills". I have come across some Herbal Medicine that works & will help, but just like Medicines from Doctors you MUST Take it Accordingly & just like Antibiotics. Patients start taking them & once they start feeling better they stop with remaining antibiotics left to take & next thing you see is whatever they took the medicine for comes back even worse. My Doctor is a Health Food Guru & is incredible how he has saved my Life. Long story short in 1985 I was hit by 4 car & ran over by the last one, enough injuries for 10 people. Talk about pain, there is time that even my Hair hurts & I'm Mostly Bald. The one Herb that has helped me the most is Salacia Tea from a Bush Grown only in India & is the root of the plant. If you Google it look it up as Salacia Tea or Salacia Oblonga & you'll see it's been around for Hundreds of Years. You may ask why have you not heard about it is because the Doctors & Pharmacies here in our "Western Medicines" they cannot make money from it!!! So they just write you a script & go to the next Patient & keep the tables turning! Also on-line you'll find Salacia Oblonga pills, well the Pills are White in Color, but the Root structure that carries & has the Herbal Medicine Properties that you need & where the Benefits that come from the Salacia Bush itself!!! The Best of Luck & do your Best to get off the Opioids because they will take over your whole Life!! P.S. I've never had an issue of getting the Medicine, but I go to a Large Chain of Grocery Store in Florida & some southern states! If your Prescription is from a Legitimate Doctor & you're going to a Legitimate Pharmacies you will have no problem getting the Meds. Where in mi do u live? What's the docs name that prescribes them? I'm having a really hard time finding a doc that will prescribe anything stronger then norcos. It's a joke they do nothing for my neck n back pain n its starting to effect my work situation. I cry, n I am not a crier, almost everynite now. I need help. I cannot keep missing work nor lose my job. Please help. Sometimes the pain is so bad I will actually throw up. I just don't get it! I get nothing from docs. I don't have n drug problem n never have. I'm 41 n this is the first time I need something that will work for pain!

You will not be able to work on the new Meds he wants to switch you too. They will keep you in la la land. Also watch out for Roxicodone. Prolong use of those and YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR TEETH!!! It's a long term opiated problem, I've lost all but three teeth in four years and my teeth were PERFECT PRIOR. I'm also on Oxycotton too, 120 of each month. There is no magic pill, they all have worse side effects then what they help. If I had to do it all over again I would
Pass and put up with the pain.

Hi, I write to you because I am a suffering addict who is chemically dependant on this medicine to have any comfort in life. I have fabrys kidney disease, 6 operative injuries to my leg knee and hip and widespread arthritus carpul tunnel and tendonitus. So, I was recently cut off my 180mg regime of 30mg roxicodone for marijuana use. I need a serious advocate of a doctor on my side. please help.

That is one hell of a dosage! Even taking into account that the effect of a 30mg tablet is around the same as a 20mg capsule since the binders used in the tabletting process (same applies to temazepam) inhibit bioavailability.
The highest IR I have ever received is 20mg qds, on top of my Oxycontin 120mg bd.
It exceeds the amount considered to be sufficient (except in Palliative Care) by 60mg per day, ref: Good Clinical Practice 2013

You would be better off taking percacets 30 mg tablets, especially if you work. The dilauded is used in most cases to put someone In a medically induced coma. They will mame you very SLEEPY!!! Take the 30mg Perce. At least they give you energy and work just as well. I've been on both. Percs 30mg for over a Year and dilauded for a few months. Switching back to percs. May I just say that from a clinical perspective, PERCOCET is nothing but an absolute con-trick by the pharmaceutical industry. There is no reason whatsoever to combine acetaminophen with oxycodone hydrochloride; there is no synergistic reaction unlike when added to dihydrocoedeineone (aka hydrocodone) bitartrate - which they do at stupid amounts well in excess of what is required to make the antitussive hydrocodone into probably the most overpriced mild opioid analgesic on earth - only 50-60mg is needed per 15mg hydrocodone and the minimum available on the USA maker is SIX TIMES that. The fact that acetaminophen is virtually useless for analgesia and is only useful as an antipyretic can not have escaped your attention, so there is no potency increase if added to oxycodone salts. Percocet is therefore nothing more than a clinically unnecessary cash cow, for which there are really no indications except maybe a very high fever accompanied by moderate to severe pain, and combining them in one tablet and marketing them as they have done is simply conning the public. Acetaminophen is also one of the most dangerous and toxic drugs available and in my view should be a Controlled Drug of at least Sch 3. It is responsible for more overdose fatalities than all other drugs, OTC or Rx, put together. And is a complete anomaly which should really never have been licensed.

No, albeit your dosage is, as I noted, quite large, but you'd most certainly be better off continuing with pure oxycodone than Percocet, which in my opinion should be withdrawn from sale immediately as it ticks all the boxes for a Schedule 1 medication, particularly the most important criterion as laid down in the American CSA - there is no real medical use for this product. Unlike some which are considered essential here but are Sch 1 there, like dextromoramide tartrate, dipipanone hydrochloride and diacetylmorphine hydrochloride, all of which are commonly prescribed outwith the USA but ridiculously considered as having no clinical use there!
Oxycodone has the great advantage over morphine in that it does not induce nearly as much sedation, permitting a normal life to be lived whilst using it. With Sevredol (IR morphine sulphate) one's cognitive and motor functions are considerably impaired by morphine.

There is a more stimulating effect from oxycodone and it is also a superior analgesic, being something in the order of 2.5 times the efficacy of morphine, rather below diamorphine but in capsule form (USA tablets) or any oral formulation having a far higher bioavailability. To equal 40mg oxycodone I require orally at least 5 x 10mg diamorphine tablets (usually by Aurum, but the brand name by Bayer is no longer permitted to be prescribed on the NHS for cost reasons) and sometimes six. Stick with your oxycodone but you would be better off with brand name Oxynorm capsules, which do not contain the binders which lessen bioavailability so much, by around 30% in fact. I personally am still looking for a U.S. Source for Global Oharma 'G74' orange 40mg ER oxymorphone and for Endo OPANA 5 and 10mg immediate release tablets, as there is no license for human use anywhere except the U.S. And it is equivalent to dextromoramide, which 10mg tablets are now very difficult to find, enforcing me to take far too many expensive 5mg strength tablets instead, so oxymorphone - those particular brands, after the relevant research - is needed badly.

My pain mgmt refused to refill my prescription as she said that the oxycontin is not showing up in the u/a. I spoke to the pharmacy. The pharmacist stated that he has heard that in some people it stops showing up after a while and I might need something stronger. Pain mgmt took me off cold turkey and now I am in more pain. Any suggestions or advice as to what I can say when I go back to pain mgmt. I am not abusing the oxycontin and take it as prescribed. The pain mgmt person made me feel like I was an addict.

The problem is with our government wanting to control our every move. Our government is puttin us in a police state. People this is serious. The Dr's know we're in pain but if they go against these laws they will be penalized. I have asked GOD to 4give me if I'm wrong but I truly wish pain on whoever has started this crusade against medicine that is needed for do many. If people are in horrible pain with no relief they may go get alcohol. People die every day due to alcohol. Livers are destroyed constantly but when they die our newspaper won't say the person died due to severe alcohol abuse, but pain pills yes they will announce. Sometimes I wonder about these all over muscular aches like i have. Is this poison? Spray a Wasp he slowly dies. Well our gov't doesn't care about such, just take medicine from those in need because the law can't control crack, methamphetamine etc. So we suffer as a result of a few lawmakers that went on this never ending crusade to take our meds. It's not our fault. Possible a little too much time in the donut shop eh? Too much time doing God only knows what instead of fighting drugs. I can tell you absolute the Clinton's turned their back on the drugs coming from Columbia when we had 8 years of Clinton. I also can tell you the Clinton's have had people killed for less than this. Not because they want drugs but because they do anything for money. And the lawmakers causing these problems, yea, I wish pain on them. I believe My FATHER is ok with me saying that. After all, we reap what we sew.
