Have you seen any other doctors? Have you had any tests performed to see what is causing the pain?

If you are just seeing your regular, primary care physician for it, that is probably the problem right there. They are not trained to treat those types of specific conditions or to do pain management.

To find effect relief, you really need to see someone that can figure out what is causing the problem and then figure out appropriate treatment.

Your doctor is also probably afraid to prescribe anything stronger. Prescriptions for controlled substances have to be reported to the government and they have to account for all of them. If it is felt that they are prescribing inappropriately, they can face severe sanctions and the loss of their license to practice medicine.
