Rotar Cuff And Bicep Surgery
Updatedsevere pain. Does nucynta alleviate pain? I am at my wits end and cannot take codeine due to severe itching. Will have to undergo 3-5 months of physical therapy and need a strong pain reliever to work. I surely hope this works. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Callie! How are you?
Yes, Nucynta contains the active ingredient Tapentadol. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
However, there are also other options, such as Oxycodone, Morphine, Hydromorphone and Oxymorphone. These are some other options you can discuss with your doctor.
Is there anything else I can help with?
