These were prescribed for my Labrador after he was hit by a car a year ago. He has been on a regular diet of 150 mg of Rimadyl daily for pain. I'm out and the new order won't be here for 2 days. My girlfriend, her boyfriend and I got pulled over tonight and she got arrested for them because the *****s couldn't get it up on the computers. I came home and googled it and it came right up! I think they were just looking to charge her because they told her it was methamphetamine, however, he allowed me to take pictures of the bottle and the pill itself before I left the police station, and it is in fact the same pill spelled CARPROFEN. It is for dogs. I don't know if they p...

We do not live in the US, Rimadyl is extremely expensive here. At present I administer 25 mg twice a day to our two arthritic geriatic dogs [30 and 40 lbs]. Is there an across-the-counter drugstore substitute that would work as well? If so, what dosage & frequency? Thank you. ## I'm sorry, I am not familiar with veterinary medications. Have you tried asking your vet for a cheaper alternative or other treatment options? ## Rimadyl contains the active ingredient Carprofen - Depending on where in the world you are located, a generic or substituted brand name may be available. So I would suggest trying to find Carprofen or another medication which contains it. Should I be worried?Or will she be OK?chewableI am visiting her from out of state and have to return home today! ## Is your friend prescribed these tablets by her doctor? Just wondering because when I look it up it says it's a veterinary medicine for joint pain. Also, what do you mean by "rimadyl for c as nine use!"? I'm assuming that may be a typo since the words don't seem to go together... but if you could please provide some clarification on this, that would be great! I see you posted this thread back on Nov 11, 2015 - Have you had a chance to talk with your friend since the incident to find out if she's alright? Thanks for any feedback you might have!

What does a RIMADYL tablet look like? After surgery, my dog was given a pill. I just found the bottle but cannot read the label. The white round pill has FD on one side, and either 532 or 552 on the other (pill is split). ## Hello, Maddies Mom! How are you? I'm sorry, but I have no listing for Rimadyl tablets. It is a medication developed specifically for canines, so it isn't listed in the prescription databases, since they only include medications for human use. Have you tried asking the prescribing vet? They should have records of what was prescribed. ## Hi Verwon~ Thank you, I did not realize that the data base did not include pet meds. Have a wonderful weekend.

My chiweenie was taking 1/2 Deramaxx 25mg once daily until the backorder began. I have 100mg tablets Rimadyl, would it be safe to quarter these and give her a quarter once daily? Thanks! ## Hi Migisi, If you feel that the vet prescribed a heavy dosage, then yes, I'd suggest cutting the pill into fractions when necessary, if not but to see how your dog responds to it. Even if there's not score/break lines on the pill I'd give it a try. The only time I don't recommend doing that is if the drug itself is an extended release version, because I'm not sure how that may affect it's chemistry. I hope this helps! ## Thanks David!
