Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 47)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: Charlene (# 226) Expand Referenced Message

I completely agree. no one talks about them or provides enough feedback these days and older generations are just used to brand name and if have luxury of affording them, but yes every generic on every medication i do my research and make sure i order the best I can get possible for me. I could assist in helping her find the best available oxycontin generic if needed. Mylan brand bup is available very easily and readily from where i am at on the west coast. You can always have your pharmacist do what they call like a bi order or something where you pay them a fee to a pharmacy that has the generic needed and if out of state you just pay the pharmacy ordering the specific generic for the shipping cost and any difference so they still make money. If needed i could assist and if you really wanted the mylan generic i could refer you to a pharmacy that has mylan and you could do that process but not all pharmacists are willing to do this and you also have to ask and always ask your pharmacist on all meds what the cost is without insurance because a lot of times medications are cheaper without insurance and a pharmacist cannot tell you this unless you ask for the price without insurance. Just food for thought.

Also when it comes to the methadone I suffer from enclosing spondylitis and many other ailments so I am in chronic constant pain always and have thought about making the switch to methadone but i am unsure of the process of getting them prescribed other than a methadone clinic. Maybe the family doctors prescribe the methadone pills and i have heard the horror stories as well and never tried it but wonder with my pain if it would be a better choice then the bup but the bup has a ceiling effect after 32mg or 4 8mg pills a day where your receptors cut off and the bup just peaks and stops working after 4 8mg tablets within 24 hours or 32mg. With methadone there is no ceiling effect so people can constantly take more and more and keep getting relief or sedation it provides without the ceiling effect and that makes it dangerous because people will just keep using more and more as there is no cut off so to say. That is lucky you have feedback from your sisters and sorry to hear about the arguing. I grew up with 6 woman and was the only boy, so i certainly can relate. I have truly wondered tho if methadone would be better for my pain than bup and if so how to obtain tablets without using clinics; most likely family doctor, not sure though. And yes generics have to be talked about. Today they are all very bad compared to what medication used to be so it makes it hard. if you ever want my opinion on which generic is best on any medication feel free to just ask. This is what I'm hoping to achieve with my podcast and thank you for the wishes of luck.

Re: Charlene (# 228) Expand Referenced Message

Disregard the previous message.

I'm not getting the Mylan brand of buprenorphin. All I'm doing is calling Mylan directly and asking them if they have a release date to be available in the pharmacies. Which right now they don't. Your friend can call their local pharmacies and ask them if they carry it or the other brands. Like the Hi-Teck and Westward. The only one's that work best for me is the Mylan and Actavis. I just hate the the taste of the Actavis brand. I sure hope your friend finds what they are seeking. I'm sorry if you misunderstood my last message.

Re: Charlene (# 228) Expand Referenced Message

I'm not getting the Mylan brand of buprenorphine. call Mylan directlyand ask them if they have a release date, for their brand of buprenorphine and when it will be available in the pharmacies. At this time, there isn't a release date. Which sucks, becaus ed I hate the taste of the Actavis brand of buprenorphine. Its that or go back on opiates, and I don't want that. All your friend can do is check with her local pharmacies and call Mylan directly, like I do. All the other brands dont work for me. They may work for your friend. I'd ask them.

Re: Tina (# 202) Expand Referenced Message

Hi tina, well at least you have two brands of bup that work for you and your pain .. can you imagine if either one of those didn't work..mam a boat load of trouble... I'm curious how do you get your Mylan brand?? I have a friend who has all kinds of troubles trying to get it...I help her hunt around and I have found it almost impossible to get..so she qlso sticks to actvis... does not like the taste either but if you only have 2 to choose from, you take what you can get...I'm in Florida the main chain stores by me are Walgreens, Walmart.., CVS, target a Sam's and publix...I have called all these for her in my area with no luck, so I called Mylan company. They sent me a brochure told me yes its available but yet nobody can seem to get...... I was thinking of asking my mom n pop shop to do it for her, but my selfishness led me away because I got scared if I did that it might be a huge mistake for me if they continued to get..so I'm not going that route not even once.. I worked way to hard to find my own brand. AND BTW damn, I feel sorry for you and your illness that sounds horrible to deal with...I'm happy its gotten better. But it's still a huge problem..makes me wish I lived closer to you to be a good friend..I would help you so much..really I would...IF you ever just want a friend to lean on tho I'm here.. just we need to switch info somehow..ok. anything I'm here for you. Peace..

Re: goozer (# 210) Expand Referenced Message

Yea a lot of medication is produced outside of the US that's not available here for many reasons. I was saying Teva buperenorphine wasn't available here anymore. It doesn't matter if i could only get it in France. Brand name Subutex and the old Suboxone pills are still available in Europe as well but I wouldn't list them as generics available to me. Not trying to fight with you I'm just frustrated with these pharma companies and their criminal practices leaving us with sub par or garbage medication.

Re: Charlene (# 213) Expand Referenced Message

WestWard is definitely now changed with way more fillers and I can't taste as much buprenorphine anymore the past 2 months. Before these last 2 fills though it seemed pretty close to the old ones. I heard people say for a while it's was different but I didn't notice anything really till 2 fills ago. It dissolved differently and there was less of that bitter taste you get from buprenorphine. So disappointed again! These generics just keep getting worse and the Roxanne WestWard hikima whatever was my last decent option. I'm going to try these Rhodes Purdue next fill and hopefully they are as good as advertised or at least as good as the old roxanne... I can live with that. I finally found a mom and pop pharmacy that told me they can order it for me. So I'm excited to try it. Hope they're good!

Re: Bobby (# 206) Expand Referenced Message

You will be very, very happy once you find you Rhodes product. I have taken every bup generic out there and these are very smooth tasting..hopefully your allergies don't have a problem with this brand because I have only heard good success stories about this..I found out most big chain Pharmacy's dont have em yet, I'm sure they will soon as I had my mom n pop pharmacy order them for me, on top of it the owner of the shop called me personally and thanked me because they are most affordable. Well I have insurance so it doesn't matter what they are all the same price for me but costing the pharmacy little money also and at 4 pills a day, look how much pharmacies are making

Re: goozer (# 210) Expand Referenced Message

One more reply for now, unless you have money to spare, dont even go out of your way to try actavis. Not even for pain relief. It's very low in bup..I know you know that..but if you dont like the taste of suboxone which I don't you will not want these..I will go to all lengths to avoid if possible. Around 2 months ago I had to accept these once again, I thought well its been a good while maybe something's different?? Nope still the same..I had a month of pure laziness AGAIN.. and the taste... so if you require more than one like me 4, I thought should I take all at once get the taste gone once and for all or what..I took 2 back to back, and they take forever to dissolve, even if just one a time takes forever and when you think ok this is enough you stick you tongue under them get it moving dissolving and it's like a blob pill melted, but not melted.... and I also know you know this to there are many blogs like yours I've seen and a very larger Majority don't like them either so I know it's just not me, that's another biggie I learned while I found your group blog here, it wasn't just me with the actavis brand..so you know if you want to one day buy a works worth to add your two cents in... don't buy more than that, you'll be stuck with a frickin months worth. Lol.

Re: goozer (# 214) Expand Referenced Message

I hope you much luck and success on your journey..I believe if someone does not speak about the genetic situations no one will. We have a huge problem here with generics. Even if you want brand name its like pulling strings to get..seems like it should be the other way around. I have tried to get my youngest sister to understand why I sometimes don't like generics and I even tried to tell her what my health M.D. told me about generics.so every once in awhile I bring it up to her without pushing my facts about them, everyone has a right to believe what they want so I'm not pushy,.. just never been a pushy person..all of a sudden one day she begins telling me how her oxycontin she used to take stopped working,.. as well anyway....and she tells me she remembers how something was changed. That's when it accured.. to her .ahh she says generics, that's why all my brand names work better....it took a while but she finally got it..the only other thing we continue to somewhat argue the issues are her methadone VS my subutex?. Good thing in away we has a telephone line between us not driving distance..she will go, on and on,.. how great her medication is compared to mine.. some of the things she says blow me away. But then again we are half polish half Scottish, and she is full polish!. Lol..she is new to methadone use only a year, other sister is 9 years..anyway the one I argue with will not budge in nothing her way or the highway...she will absolutely go to her grave raving it..I have always be somewhat afraid of it because of the horror stories about w/ds, same is subs but I read much worse. I had to hearn the lingo to understand what she talk of..she takes a dose of 115 x day, and still says it's not enough and refuses take homes. Till correct. I believe she is still trying to chase the oxy high as before which she will never get......who knows it could very well be me, with the problem, I read methadone users get that...
I cant spell it....that slight rush high...but then does not last,... maybe...yes I am jealous,... I want that to...but we usually text alot daily not directly talk she will just about squeeze it in a text atleast daily...does she know I'm jealous? Humm feedback please ?? thx goozer

Re: goozer (# 219) Expand Referenced Message

Well damn, darn ,great, sounds like alot of fun..I take my buprenorphine seriously. It's the most important medication in my life, thank god for that at least it's not like a heart pill I rely on for health to live a better life..I need my darn heart rate to live..lol. but ya.. thank goodness I somehow bumped into this group not only for info I might have missed but the new friendship of friends I have met in this particular group..everyone has been so nice with support we all need..also I learned that I am not the only one who gets treated like I'm doing something wrong at a pharmacy trying to get my bup filled or asking for a brand I want..by joining I see now ITS NOT JUST ME. seriously I thought it was. So yes, yes you should do a podcast if anything to get the message out to others because if it helps just one more person out their, you've done your job well..thx again

Re: goozer (# 220) Expand Referenced Message

Hi goozer, I have to confess and not hide, I AM the one who was the first to mention how much bup is in each generic... I mentioned it for a few reasons. I have never noticed how each one has a different amount, and I for one want the most for my money, not to mention I have taken this for so long I feel like I need more than the next idk. but also when I first noticed it on the btodrems.com page I couldn't understand if I was reading it correctly? So my first questions to one of these blogs was a stupid one I should have been able to just figure out without asking. (how and is it true most generics say 8.64 equivalent to 8mgs) that was my? Do some actually have more bup than others?? So believe or not time went by, no one ever answered it for me, and I never reasked..because it seemed like a stupid question? And I didn't want to feel embarrassed..so again I thank you for the help and wisdom you have provided to me.

Re: Tina (# 186) Expand Referenced Message

and honestly who cares about how much mg is in their bup generic? seriously tina that would be every person here and every reason why people come here sorry if it upsets u that i prefer rhodes and that it has more bup by very little than mylan and please don't act like you are only one here in pain we all are not everyone likes to talk about their chronic pain but u can bet everyone here certainly cares about how much bup is in their generic so for you to say who really cares how much bup is in their generic is boggling to me but again best wishes much love and wish u only quality of life and health as i would myself and everyone else but we all care about that and not contradicting you just stating the facts and like to respond to people who post on my forum geese. best of health to u
