In winter / spring of 2010 my wife started having regular episodes of insomnia and by April it was affecting her pretty badly. She told me she thought she was clinically depressed. She had never had any previous mental problems the whole 20 years I knew her- never any mention of suicidal thoughts. We were happily married and had been saving money over time plus had a large inheritance- we were in the process of looking for a house to buy. I sent her to the doctor to get a sleep aid. He prescribed Ambien but it didn't work and it had bad side effects for her. By early June she had missed work a few times and went back to the doctor to try something else. he took last night 60mg restoril only supposed to take 30mg. He also took 20mg zyprexa only supposed to take 5mg, He is also didnt take klonopin since he toook way too much last week and he was having brain zaps ears ringing and in a fog he felt paralyzed he fell down and dizzy. could that be from klonpin withdrawl or too much medications. he also takes 20mgnadolol and 50mg vistaril ## If he isn't taking them as prescribed, then it is difficult to say which one may have caused the symptoms he experienced, it could be due to withdrawal, or suddenly jumping to a higher dose of the others. I have had a hard time sleeping as a child. Now that I am 43 it is very bothersome to me. I don't drink or take any drugs besides my thyroid medicine. I have tried Ambiem and lunesta. Neither worked. I am lucky if I get 12 to 14 hours of sleep a week. So now I have been on Restoril 30mg for about a week now and I still can't sleep. I am about to loose it. Why isn't these meds that the doctors say should knock me out, not working. Please I need some advice from people who have severe insomnia? What do they look like? Are they pink, and light blue M 7.5?? ## Yes, based on your description it does sound like a Restoril capsule 7.5 mg. Basically a capsule that's half blue, half pink. The blue half states the word RESTORIL over 7.5mg in burgundy letters, and the pink half has a boxed M (mylan) logo with the ® symbol, and also possibly the words FOR SLEEP on the pink side as well. Hi I started taking restoril a few months back for insomnia after I was having adverse reactions (sleep walking, cooking, and redosing with out knowing it) and so restoril is amazing for putting me to sleep and keeping me asleep. But my problem is I'm turning 21 tomorrow and my brothers and my fiancé are throwing a party for me which I know we are going to be having a few alcoholic beverages and what not, so my question is if I took my normal 30mg dose of restoril tonight, could I have a few drinks tomorrow? I picked up my medicine and saw that it was a white capsule instead of the yellow so I called the pharmacy because I thought they made a mistake but they told me that the company that used to make them sold out and a new company was making them that is why they are a differant color. Will this OTC sleep aid show positive on a drug screen for a new job? ## Hi Tony, With over-the-counter medications, you generally don't need to worry about drug tests. However, because false positives are so common now-a-days, I would actually suggest letting the lab know what you're taking prior to the test, just to play it safe. It may not even matter though, because Alteril contains natural plant based ingredients, which to my knowledge, shouldn't even trigger anything. I just had a drug screen and it came back positive for restoril I have never taken this. My Dr is now wanting to take my other meds away. I had a gastric bypass two months ago, the only thing I could have was promethazine gel, and sublingual Lamictal. I couldn't even take the liquid pain medication it made me sick. I only started back on my regular meds on December 23rd, and it didn't consist of restoril. So what do I do. This really has me concerned.

Today is June 17, 2013 I took 90mg of Restoril today and I have a urine test coming up on June 27, 2013. So that gives me about 9 days cause my test is at 10am.. Is there any possibility that it may show up in my urine.. If so is there anything I can do to help the drug pass through my system before my drug test.. Any suggestions are welcome.. Thanks =)

i have a capsule and its half red n half lightblue . it has N on the half red side in white color. the other half blue side has 30 .........they are called restrall .. ## Based on the description provided, there aren't any medications in the US listed under the name "Restrall". I think you may have meant to say Restoril 30mgs; which is a blue and red colored capsule marked with "RESTORIL 30 mg" on the red half and "M FOR SLEEP" on the blue half. Can taking Restoril 30mg and Sudafed for ten days prior to a urine drug screen cause a high false positive for amphetamines? ## The Pseudoephedrine in the Sudafed has been known to cause false positives for Amphetamines, this has happened to many people that have taken it. Did this happen to you, as well?
