Replacement Medication Not By Choice

Updated

I have been looking for an up to date forum to ask questioms, and hope this is it. I am prescribed 30mg extended release morphine, 4 times a day, and 15 mg, IR morphhine for break through pain, 4 times a day. I have been taking it for aprox 10 years. I have had disc fusing surgery, and have 2 more herniations that need surgical help. Arthritis, scar tissue and many other issues. The meds don't ever take the pain away completely, but allow me to live and work and get up in the morning without wanting to die. I work 13 hour days, at a somewhat physical job for me,, and I went into my purse to get a pill at the proper time, (not an abuser), and my script looked almost empty. I had just filled it. I took my script and went to the restroom and looked closely and yes, it was almost gone. I have enough to get me through till the 18th if I reduce, but I don't get new script till the 29th. I went to my supervisor and told him someting was taken from my purse, and even told him what it was. I pray I don't loose my job. He's pretty cool, and has also taken pain meds in the past. He said they would look on the cameras and find out, but it may take a little while as my boss wasn't in till Wednesday coming up. I'm freaking out. I cried and of course am scared of withdrawl, and other things. I will NOT call my doctor and ask for more, as I've heard horror stories about being cut off and them not believing you... I have a co-worker who takes suboxone, and said she would help. (for a price of course.) How much suboxone would I have to take to replace my meds. I know you won't have an exact number, but any info would help. I bought 7 from her, and pray it will get me through. They are the 8 mg octagon pills. Please help me with an answer if anyone has one. Thank you so much. Scared and upset.

You really should contact your doctor for assistance. They may be willing to take a verified report from your supervisor at work, as to what happened.

However, what you really should have done is reported it to the authorities, so you had the police report to back it up.

As to the Suboxone, it's going to be difficult to find any answers there, because it does vary from person to person, depending on their tolerance to medications, how much of the given medications they were taking, their body weight, health and etc. It's really a carefully calibrated dosage.

Does anyone have any information on this?

To Veron, I found myself missing 150 pills out of 240 for the month. Someone in my home took them . I spoke about it to my psychologist about it and he convinced me to go to the doc and tell him the truth and that I refuse to report a family member to police. On the promise that I would get a safe he was sympathetic and gave me a script for the missing amount. I was surprised but if not an habitual thing and the fact u reported it to a supervisor I am sure you will get what you need

The best thing would be to talk to your doctor and explain what happened. Some doctors will refill a replacement one time for theft. You also might carry a smaller bottle of meds with you instead of the whole prescription. You can get a smaller labeled bottle at your pharmacy. That's what I did rather than carry all mine each day I just load the days amount into small bottle and lock the rest in the safe
