Help! Remeron and Cymbalta

Has anyone ever experienced anger/rage while taking Remeron? I recently tapered off Cymbalta slowly while introducing Remeron. I’m having extreme bouts of rage with no regard to anything, very far from the person I normally am. I don’t know if this is being caused by Cymbalta withdrawal or the Remeron. By the way - the week where I was on 15 Remeron and 15 cymbalta I was very energetic and positive, hyper productive. Obviously something is not right here. Could it be that this is just what I’m like without Cymbalta? Am I rapid cycling? I’ve never been officially diagnosed with bipolar 2 (mainly mdd and anxiety) but I’ve taken lamictal and cymbalta for 10 years after two suicide attempts. I’ve tried other drugs before that as well. Right now I am only ...

ringing in ears

I started takeing Remeron with Zoloft . I started with increased ringing in my ears so my doctor said to increase the remeron and the ringing got worse. I also have the strange sensation of moveing my head guickly like the guy who asked about any drug interaction of remeron and Nuvigil, Please somebody help? ## Hello, Don! How are you doing? Has anything improved, yet? It sounds like one or both may be causing some vertigo and tinnitus, the two often go hand in hand. Learn more Remeron details here. If it got worse, when you increased the Remeron, then that means it could be the culprit. Have you contacted your doctor, again? It must might not be the right medication for you. ## I have been taking Remeron for about 15 years and never noticed ringing in my ears until I started on pain me...

Remeron and urine tox screen

Recent urine tox screen in ER was positive for benzodiazepines even though I had not taken anything other than cough medicine with codeine, Lexapro and Remeron. Can the Remeron show up as a benzodiazepine? ## Remeron contains the active ingredient Mirtazapine, it is an antidepressant. That said, no, it should not show up as a Benzodiazepine. There have, however, been a lot of posts recently about these tests coming up with false positives, which makes me thing there is a bad batch out there. Have you talked to your doctor about this? ## I also take mirtazapine and have been getting false positives for benzodiazipines in my system has anybody else experienced this problem. Does anybody have a explanation or reply that would help me out. thanks. C ## i also take remeron (mirtazapine) and ...

Anxiety Remeron Seroquel Klonopin

I have been prescribed Remeron 15mg and Klonopin 0.5 for anxiety and lack of sleep. After 40 days I still have too much anxiety and racing thoughts to fall asleep, and I've gained no weight. So my Dr put me on Seroquel XR 150 mg one week ago (Aug 14) and will be able to fill a new Rx for Ativan to try on Aug 30 once the Klonopin Rx is "completed". The Klonopin no longer helps with anxiety as I get those dreaded warm rushes of pain the fill my face, neck, chest, and arms even after I take one. I'm reaching out for help because as I transition from Remeron to Seroquel it's still hard to fall asleep and the grogginess during the day is torture. What meds or combo has anyone taken to help fall asleep, slow the racing thoughts, decrease anxiety and agitatation, and just h...

Remeron + Clonazepam = false positive for Restoril

I am desperately trying to find out if Remeron + Clonazepam can cause a false positive for Restoril.. I stand a great deal to lose over this unfortunate test result and I'm at my wits end. Please help. ## Clonazepam is a benzo just like Restoril. So it has nothing to do with the combo. BTW it would just test positive for benzos. Unless it was put under mass spec, they can't tell the difference. So if you have a script your safe. ## Clonazepam and temazepam (Restoril is a BRAND of temazepam, manufactured by Mallinckrodt, Inc., and in capsule form, imprinted with the name, strength, the Mallinckrodt 'M' in a box logo, and the legend 'FOR SLEEP') molecules are sufficiently different from each other that they can not be distinguished except by a very sensitive test w...

side effects of

side effects of Remeron ## I was prescribed 1/2 a 15mg Remeron- or 7.5mg - for sleep- [after 9 months of being off prescribed 0.5mg Klonopin.] The Remeron knocked me out for 2 days! Then tried less than a 1/4, & same thing happened. Last night tried tiny crumb -about the size of large grain of sand -about 1-2mg. Slept 12 hrs & woke up groggy. Curious about posts that report that some on Remeron had it show up positive for a Benzodiazapine. What could the connection be between these meds? Yrs of prescribed Benzos messed me up badly & NEVER want to take another benzo,- or the Remeron -if it is similar & will prevent healing from the benzos. ## From what I know of Remeron (mirtazapine), and from what Ive been told by a few doctors now, the smaller the dose, the more sedatin...

I have been getting false positives for benzodiazipines on drug tests. The only thing I take is mirtazapine. Anybody else experience this or have any help/replies would be much greatly appreciated. ## If you're looking for experiences with false positives, we have many posts about that on our site. Mirtazapine isn't known to cause false positives for anything, however, if the tests being used a cheaper, non-certified ones, then they are known to give false positives anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? ## i have been on mirtazapine for 6 months...i went to jail in may..just got out this past grandma picked me up..we went to the probation office the following day..i never left my grandmas side...i failed for benzos...the...

remerom can be very dangerous

I began taking remeron for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome. 7.5 mg x 2 per day. Noticed my heart began racing. Called doc asked if this was a side affect. He said don't worry your body is just getting used to remeron. It will adjust itself. That night woke up with terrifying hallucinations. Fell down two flights of stairs. Broke arm trying to get out by breaking a window. Bruises all over my body from falling down the steps. Back injured as well as neck. My nuts and thighs and both legs had huge black and blue marks. It's been a little over a week. Still in alot of pain. Still can't walk much without a lot but am slowly feeling less pain. Doc says I should be okay within a month. Remeron can be very dangerous. I could have been killed. ## Hello, Peter! How are you? I am so ver...

Remeron(Mirtazapine) Diapam(Diazepam)

Dear Pharmacist, I am 52-year-old man. I take Remeron(Mirtazapine) for anxiety and depression. I started to use this medication about one week ago. I take the medication in the evening. I read in the patient information leaflet that I should not drink alcohol. How many hours after I take the medication is it safe to drink? Sometimes I drive to work by car. When I had the medication dispensed in the pharmacy, they said that the medication can cause drowsiness. Can I drive If I use this medication? I also use Diapam(Diazepam), is it safe to take these medications together?

Remeron and SymGen

Hi, I am 47 years of age , male and have anxiety disorder. I have been using Remeron 30mg for almost a year and a half with mild effect. My doctor then prescribed symgen 30mg as well which leads to heavy heart palpitations and something like a shortness of breath in the mornings (This is the only way I can describe it.) Can I simply stop the cymgen or should I wait a little longer for these side effects to subcide. ## Hey. I can't answer your question. But I'm on same combo as you. Its good but weight gain is terrible! Do you know if I can stop taking remeron suddenly after 9 years and continue with cymgem without getting bad side effects? ## Hello, Charles! How are you? How long have you been taking the Cymgen? Side effects are typically transient and taper off in severity, the...

Anti depression remeron

Please help me. I have gastroparises and a small hiatal hernia above stomach. I have been having sever esphagus spasms (clamping), to were I can't hardly swollow and then it becomes so intense I feel bruised down the entire esophagus. The doctor recommended Remeron to correct this. I have in past taken different meds to help with menieres most of them have been in this drug category - we discussed this after I lost my job and three years of my life sleeping on an antidepressant - I am not sure that I ever want to put this class of drugs in my body again. Does the Remeron relieve or cure the esphagus clamping the pain level is a ten and it is frightening. Please help. Do u know of something else that could help !

remeron and qsymia

has anyone taken Qsymia to loss the weight gained by being on Remeron (Mirtazapine)? ## Hello, Basset Gal! How are you? There are two issues here, the first is that it is never a good idea to take another medication to try to treat a side effect that has been caused by a different one. Doing that just tends to compound the side effect problems. And the second issue is that the weight problem will continue, as long you keep taking the Remeron, so you'd just really be trying to fight a losing battle. The best thing to do, if they Remeron has caused you to gain a significant amount of weight would be to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication, such as Prozac, that isn't known to cause weight gain. Side effects to it may include nausea, dizziness, headache and weigh...

False positive on my urine test???

Remeron/Carbamazapine/Lamictol/Bentyl/Zofran and Serequil are the medicines I am using on a daily to fight with my life long seizures and bipolar disorder. I currently live in a halfway house where I am drug tested on a weekly basis. Today I was notifed that my UA had tested positive for amphetamines. I have less than a month before I can go home. I wouldn't do anything to ruin that. I deal with enough stress in my life and now this. Please can someone tell me if any of these.meds may cause a false positives on a urine analysis.

Dosage averages used it for sleep few yrs ago need it again forgot which strength I uses ## Hello! How are you? I'm sorry, but I'm to familiar with anything under this name. Were you possibly thinking of Remeron? Could you please post back and clarify? Thank you!

doe s remeron with zoloft create ringing in the ears to get worse

I was perscibed 30 mgs. of remeron and 200mgs. of zoloft. Then was told to increase the dose of remeron to 45mgs. the ringing in the ears got worse. It is a loud pierceing wine, ## Hello, Don! How are you doing? Sorry about the tinnitus. Has it eased up, at all, yet? It is difficult to say what might be causing it, it is often a side effect of medications, but could also be entirely unrelated. Have you consulted your doctor? When was the last time you had a hearing exam?

remeron helps me sleep

Remeron helps me sleep great at night but doesnt help control my mood swings in the day though.. my doctor said it was a mood stabalizer and would help but yet I still see nothing! I still stay irritable during the day.. and I also take zoloft during the day but still nothing! So as far as remeron being a mood stabalizer its bull to me but does help me sleep, thats just about all it does ## Hello, Chrisyy! How are you? Zoloft is an SSRI antidepressant and Remeron is an NSS antidepressant, so based on that I can only guess that they just aren't the right medications to help your irritability. Have you talked to your doctor? You might want to ask them about trying an SNRI or a tetracyclic antidepressant.
