Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 30)
UpdatedI only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?
Re: Natasha (# 578)
I hear you. What I did to get around these types of issues.
1. Install a video recording system.
2. In my case, I had CVS send it to me with signature required.
3. It didn't fix everything but most of them.
From the video system, we found that someone was using Jimmy Johns for sandwich delivery and the delivery person was stealing. We had the evidence and gave it to the police. The police arrested the person. Since it was under $100 he was given community service. We made sure he was fired from Jimmy Johns. We couldn't pin all of the thefts on the guy, but it certainly drastically reduced the theft after he was no longer delivering.
If you use your insurance the insurance will not fill it 7 days early 3 days yes 7 no

Thanks, Ed...glad you got a workable security system installed! We have 120 apts. in my bldg, and it took them two years to even put the laminated notices up telling delivery people not to leave boxes. But they still do. Doubtful they would put up another security camera, but it can't hurt to ask :) Best, Natasha
Re: Natasha (# 583)
Tell them to make sure they buy HI-DEF cameras. Otherwise, the faces tend to be fuzzy and not usable in court.
Re: Natasha (# 578)
I have encountered the same problems at times. Even when I am home waiting the mailman/women would lie and say no one was home. Some possible solutions are: #1) have them hold your packages at the post office. #2) Report it to the Post Master. #3) if you have a rental office maybe they could leave the package there.

If you have angina there are cardiac drugs that can help you. Xanax is not the answer. Take control of your health, find a doctor and stand up for yourself.
Re: SayWhat (# 585)
Since our fill-in mailperson seems to have disappeared, there haven't been any more problems. I have had to complain many times (for various packages, not just meds), filling out online forms. I also won't order a bunch of meds at once...I'll space them out...so the package is always small enough to fit in my mailbox.
Re: Anonymous (# 580)
Almost all states have their Prescription Monitoring Programs connected to neighboring states now. Pharmacists and doctors in both states can see your PMP Profile.
Re: SayWhat (# 585)
In a big city, they either won't hold your packages or the mail person changes from day to day and messages don't necessarily get exchanged.
Also, we do not have an on-site property manager and no doorman.
I found that reporting it (at least in my area) to the postmaster does little good other than getting the postman mad at you.
Re: SW (# 2)
Most pharmacies will fill rx''s 5 days early. Also, dont go to a well known store/pharmacy. Go to an independant or 'mom and pop' pharmacy. Usually, they are much more relaxed about filling scripts.
I take Xanax and go to my doctor once a month for my prescription. This time instead of going on the 18th, I have to go on the 16th. I have blue cross / blue shields essentials. Will I have to wait until the 18th to get them filled? I use CVS Pharmacy.
Re: Debbie (# 591)
Call the Pharmacy and ask. This should be all the information necessary for you to get. Don't fight the system. They have rigid rules and will not bend (99 percent of the time). Don't lend your medications out to *ANYONE* if you are done taking them. If you want to dispose of them, ask the pharmacy or call the police department, there may be a collection zone for them. Each city has different rules.
Re: Ed (# 589)
I get it. We definitely don't want the post man angry with you.
Re: Natasha (# 587)
That is a fantastic idea. Having to the box for inside your mail box would definitely help solve the problem.
Re: SayWhat (# 586)
You obviously don't have heart problems or anxiety or you would know that they are linked together. Example- If you can't breath, the next thing that happens is anxiety or panic attack. Don't talk about something you don't have. That's like a back seat driver.
Re: Debbie (# 591)
It isn’t the day of the month. It’s 30 day supply. What my pharmacy does is count exactly 4 weeks from the date filled, so if filled on Friday, count the fourth Friday from then which is actually the 29th day. Some months have 31 days so you would run out if you use the 18th of every month as your fill date. Go through your yearly calendar and you’ll see what i mean. Don’t let them pull anything on you. You can show them on a calendar. Plus, you always have at least a 2 day grace period, some of my meds have a 5 day grace period.
Please. Enough already, this has been beaten to death.
Can you get your prescription of alprazolam 3 days early in December 2017? I'm planning to leave for another state, due to family.
Re: littleman (# 595)
Little, how wrong you are. I have cardiomyopathy, a heart murmur & palpitations. Respiratory wise, I have asthma. I suffer from anxiety when I am stressed, or overwhelmed. I never had a panic attack until last year, when I had 3 full blown panic attack pretty much back to back and ended up in the ER each time. It was one of the worse thing that has happened to me. I didn't know what it was at the time. I also had other symptoms that affected my driving. Whenever I drove, I thought the car was going to turn over. Especially when I had to drive a curve. It was absolutely terrifying. l went to a psych doctor and was diagnosed went on medication and have been doing much better. Mean while I researched alternative treatments to help me through and attack. I Haven't had any for a while now. Thank goodness. Little, for me first the panic sets in. I got to learn my triggers. I would start to feel tingling all over my body, then I start to panic which led to hyperventilation aka difficulty breathing. Which leads to increase panic which leads to increase respiratory rates which leads to increase heart rate. These symptoms correlate with each other. That's why they said to focus on the breathing. Deep breaths in your nose and slow breaths out your mouth. Whatever triggers the feeling of panic such as; stress, being overwhelmed etc..etc...then everything else sets in. The more you panic, the more you hyperventilate, which increase, your panic and heart rate because you feel like you are going to die. It becomes a cycle. Little, no back seat driver here, not even a passenger seat. I am driving the car.
Re: Natasha (# 583)
I won't go into the details but let me put it this way. The board fought my request by playing every dirty trick they could come up with. I was just dogged and kept a running tally of the number of people that had items stolen. I published it and I think that is what caused the board to crumble and had it installed. We went through various issues like power blips that caused the unit to become inoperative, the *****s didn't use a surge protector and on and on. Then we had somebody break into the building and the board finally admitted that they needed to upgrade the camera's to HI-DEF so you could actually make out the person's face. Then it became an uphill battle (its still going on) for camera placement. It's one of those things that you have to keep up the pressure on or else it will fall by the wayside.
